The shredder is very quiet and efficient. If you've had older ones you know how loud they are. It hasn't clogged so I can put away the butter knife I used to get stuck paper out of my previous one. Hopefully I'll get as many years of use from my new one.

When my last royal died, I was checking electricity for a fault. Then, I realized I needed a new shredder. Purchased this at a tremendous price and love it after a week of work around Tax time.

I had a paper shreader for about 20 years or more that was realy nice. I used it for sometimes hous at a time and it NEVER quit on me or overheated. This one is just OK. What I don't like about this one is you have to feed it one sheet at a time. You can overlap the paper AFTER you start feeding it but I dought you could put 10 sheets in at one time. My old one I used to put 8 to 10 sheets in all at once and it ate through it like it was candy. I have looked at most of the reviews on most of the shreaders and there are a lot of complaints on everyone of them, no matter the price line. It seems that the 21st century has much lower standards no matter what the product or issue is in our lives.

I spent $25 more than I hoped,but the expense is worth it.I've owned 3 shredders in 26 yearsfor personal use in a home office.This is the best yet because...1. My 1st shredder was a pull offtop model, & the top was heavy.It did not accept more than4 or 5 sheets of paper.The paper did not shred intotiny enough pieces.2. My 2nd model had a pull outbin, but it meant I could notline it with a trash bag.It was messy emptying thebin, very! Having to sweepup debris inside themachine & on the floorwhen I removed the binto dump it was a pain!!The criss-cross cut wasgood. It supposedlyshredded 8 pages ata time, but that waswith a strain thatcaused it to overheat& stall.3. A 4 gallon trash bag neatlyinserts into this latest model.I already easily dumpedcut paper without any mess.Sure, it's loud. So what?It cuts 10 sheets of paperat one time. The size of thecriss-cross shreddings isthe tiniest yet. GREAT!!WORTH THE PRICE TAG!!
