This beater is heavy duty. I love that it includes a replacement silicon blade. It seems like it would be really convenient to not manually scrape the bowl. Unfortunately, I misunderstood the models that this works with. This FEB5HD model beater does not work on my KSM55 model Kitchenaid mixer. It is compatible with the KSM5 but not the KSM55.

I selected the Flex Edge Beater Pro because it was compatible with my KitchenAid 5QT Mixer. I thought that the concept was a great idea, and it was! Please note that I did have to use the tool on my mixer to adjust it as this blade is large! But it scrapes the edge of the bowl to efficiently mix the batter! It was a good value, too, because Kitchenaid accessories can be a bit pricey. The blade is durable and heavy and functions well to mix the ingredients quickly and easily!

Read the description carefully! I didn’t and ended up with a paddle for a different model. I was so looking forward to using this replacement paddle for my mixer and getting rid of my slightly battered OEM part. There are a few things that I can remark about the paddle that I hope are useful. The fit of the connector attaching the paddle is solid. It easily and securely fit in the mixer’s head. The paddle is well made in obvious features. I believe the paddle is made from cast aluminum either the leading edge made of a sturdy silicone. The blade edge is replaceable with a replacement included in the box. This is a terrific replacement paddle for your kitchen aid mixer. Just make sure you find the right size for your mixer.

I appreciated the heavy-duty design of this beater, with its hefty metal and thick silicone scraper. However, it is too large for my mixer. I double-checked the model compatibility and it should fit my Model KSM 150, but apparently, I need to adjust the screw that is visible in the back the head/arm of my mixer meet. The instructions suggest starting with a half-turn counterclockwise until it reaches the correct height. I haven't attempted this adjustment yet, but it seems straightforward. Since it claims to be compatible, I will try to adjust it the next time I use it. It seems like a very well built accessory.

I had difficulty determining if this would fit my model so I went ahead and ordered it. Unfortunately it does NOT fit the standard Kitchen Aid mixers (the ones where the bowl does NOT raise). I really wanted this to work as it looks to be built well, heavy thick metal and the rubber scraper looks like it would have worked great. If it had fit, I think this would have been a good upgrade for my mixer, but just really check that your model will fit this item!
