I'm a scuba diver but also snorkel with my son and wife; I didn't buy this to use scuba diving, but wanted something with a much broader view when snorkeling and this definitely opens it up. The fact that it uses tempered glass vs plastic should result in long lasting clarity as long as I (or my kid) don't scratch it up. I love the double seal skirt since I have short facial hair and some masks with a standard single line seal have small leaks. As a scuba diver I can clear my mask underwater, but it's not as easy when snorkeling and I prefer not having to do it at all!I also like to dive down to get closer to the action sometimes when snorkeling, so this mask having the molded cutouts around your nose so you can clear if needed are great.

I picked up this oval scuba mask for a beach trip, and it totally exceeded expectations. The 180° view is legit—super clear and wide without any weird distortion. I could see everything around me, which made snorkeling way more fun and immersive.The tempered glass lens held up great. No fogging issues either, which was a nice surprise. The silicone skirt is soft and seals really well—no leaks, even with facial hair. The strap adjustment is quick and holds tight once it’s set.Overall, it’s a solid, comfortable mask.

As a survivor of major dental implant surgery early on this year, I look forward to getting back in the salty waters of the southern California coast, far beyond the safety of a backyard swimming pool. I was very excited to order this old-school dive mask, since it seemed to have a wide visual field, based on the product images. Unfortunately, when I tried this mask on, I learned that the mask does not properly fit my face. To provide further detail, I am a 6 foot tall female with an elongated face of normal size range. The mask extended way too uncomfortably far toward my mouth area. Furthermore, this mask is unusually heavy, probably due to the quality tempered glass, and the point of pressure from the mask’s weight landed beneath my nose and toward my mouth, which is a weak point due to my new and vulnerable dental implants. I am scratching my head and going back to the drawing board in finding a mask that is suitable for divers with dental implants; these masks must be lightweight, and the weight of the mask must be distributed around the face, and not resting too much on the lower nose and mouth.I will be asking my spearfishing, urchin diver colleague to test out this mask at a more professional level, so I will add more detail to this review soon. This urchin diver is a 6’2” 220 pound male with a wider face than my own, and so the fit and function of this mask may be totally different than my own discomfort.
