This unit has been really great so far. Puts out cool air just like I appreciate my small apartment unit to be. It was very easy to set up, comes with a remote control. Hope it lasts through the hot weather season. Time will tell.

I purchased this air conditioning last year for my apartment's loft bedroom which is at the highest point of the building and has a sloped ceiling and therefore gets very hot and stuffy in the summer. Setting it up was fairly quick and easy and it does a great job at lowering the temperature and removing the humidity in the room in a short time. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because of the window kit - the extensions made the piece way too long for my window. I ended up cutting a piece of styrofoam and sliding that into the end of the main piece and then using duct tape to hold all of it in place. The plastic pieces are not constructed in a way that you can push them down and have them straddle the bottom of the window. Instead you need to balance it on top, close the window, and then tape everything so it holds. At least, this was the best way I found of doing it. I may look into a universal window kit.I didn't think it was any louder than a standard in-the-window/wall A/C unit. I got used to the noise right away (it's really only noisy when the compressor kicks in) and it totally acts as white noise to block out sounds from neighbors. You will need a decent sized bucket for the drain hose especially on humid days/evenings because it pulls a ton of water from the air, even in a smaller room. But the inconvenience of emptying a water bucket every day is totally worth it to have a cool room to sleep in during the summer. And the cat loves it, too!

Initial review: we got these units as supplements to our central air in Phoenix. It does a great job in cooling down our sleeping rooms where the central air just isn’t able to cool those areas very well.I made some modification when setting up the window hot air exhaust hose.- you will probably need an additional window kit. Our vertical window was too large and our smaller winders were too small for the kit that came with the units. Too bad because they seemed like good quality items.- to add stability for the exhaust plate block In the window, I cut some cardboard, rolled it up into a round long piece, wrapped it in duct tape and wedged it between the window and the plate. This keeps the exhaust plate my more sturdy in the window.- on my vertical window, to keep it from sliding open at all (unlikely to happen but still) I had some suction cups that screw onto the window and increase the suction grip as you screw. I placed three of these along the window and now they won’t open at all.- to create some more insulation at the exhaust plate, I cut a piece of cardboard to the plate and then bought some foam insulation and glued it to the cardboard. Now just place that in the window behind the exhaust plate to prevent more hot air from coming in.

Works great! One thing I learned is that the hoses are standardized, and if the included window kit doesn't work in your situation, you can buy alternate ones here on Amazon. In my case, my window was in a basement apartment, and high on the wall. My measurements were just 17"x10", so the included kit would not fit. The solution was to close the window on the plain hose and put the flap of a small cardboard box above it. This works fine until I buy a proper window kit. It is loud on low settings, but it's a whish sound I can get used to. The "Dry" setting seems to be just a fan from the outside. I have no problem cooling a 10'x12' room so far, but my region won't get 30C days until July.Update: We got an early summer! I just passed 31C outside and had no problem staying cool. When set to 22C, my desk remained at 23.7C all afternoon. Also I have not filled a soda bottle with drippings in weeks. If the cooling seems to stop, ensure a tight seal around your window with the hose.-Simple to install-Good value-Good cooling performance-Adaptable to many window types

going on my 3rd summer of use. first of all i would say this unit is well worth the price, not great but adequate. i have a 15x20 foot room and it does its job well, if its 90f outside my room is about 70f..if it hits 100 then it starts to get warm in my room..around 75-80 and struggles a little to keep up.

Window kit was not what was advertised. The description and pictures claimed the window kit would fit windows 26.6' to 49.7". First off the window kit received looks different than what was advertised in the pictures. Secondly, my window is 29" and the extension piece to fill in the gap remaining after placing the main window piece is way too long. You can only slide it over to the point where it hits the opening for the exhaust tube. At that point it is still way to long to fit my 29" window. I can make it fit if I cut the extension piece but I shouldn't have to do that and one reason I chose this unit was based on the fact that it said the window kit would fit my window width.

This works so much better than I expected. We still have Air conditioning and power issues from the summer hurricanes this year. This unit cools and dehumidifies our house enough to be more than just comfortable, but actually cold sometimes. It covers a good amount of square footage, we have a small 1200 sq ft south Florida home and it works for us when needed. Perfect for anyone in a storm area that loses power and needs a/c. This and a generator is the difference between tolerable and not after the storm during hurricane season. Very satisfied so far.

Works great, perfect for my room, and it does get cold. Been looking for one for awhile. Most of the portable acts you have to keep adding water to them. So thanks

It's simple, was easy to set up. It's a little bit awkward space wise as you need to have a window with at least 4 feet of clearance in every direction. Very good for the price though. It cools my room to lower than 20°C (which is really cold and not always needed by most) but that's a good thing because it can do its job well. It is really loud though (think garbage compacter) but it sounds like a fridge almost? So if you want something quiet this is not it. But I like mine
