I've been making sourdough for a little over a year now, and I have had so many friends ask about how they can get started. I have gifted a lot of starter sets to them. This kit is one of the best I have seen, for the price ($43 at the time of this review), for what it includes. With everything from the food scale, to the starter jar, the banneton basket, stirring and mixing tools, bread sling for taking it out of the pot you cooked it in, lame with extra blades, and even some stencils and a flour sifter for making pretty designs. Many of these are extras I have had to purchase separately. This really does have everything you need outside of a dutch oven (or other bread pan) to bake in. I would not say the quality of each item is 5 star, but as an overall starter set, you can't beat it.

This little starter kit (well, not little, the box was huge!) has brought my daughter so much joy. She had mentioned a few weeks ago that she wanted to learn to make sourdough bread and I commented she needed to figure out the process of making/getting a starter… and then this popped up in my suggested items! I am so happy that I purchased this item. Every morning she gets up early to ‘feed’ it and runs around showing everyone in our house the progress.The one negative I have is that I wish it had come with a booklet to teach her how to do it. It came with a bowl that she doesn’t plan on using but she had to go online to watch videos on how to use the products. It would have been nice if this ‘starter kit’ came with instructions.Apparently it takes a while to get the ‘starter’ to a point that she can make bread, but until then she will be happily ‘growing’ it.

Holy cow this has EVERYTHING you need to start baking bread specifically sourdough. The kit has its own scale, to help out the measuring impaired, a sour dough starter jar, and all the tools: whisk, sifter, proofing basked, scraper, 5 blades for slitting the top and stuff I don't even know what it does, but its nice looking. This is a pretty amazing high quality set. I highly recommend for anyone starting their baking journey

Just finished baking my first ever loaf of sourdough bread and I must say this little kit really helped me feel more confident about the entire process!This kit has all the little gadgets I didnt know about until I was watching instruction videos and saw them being used, I would get worried then I looked at the side picture and was happy to see I had that tool too thanks to the kit.My favorite thing here is the jar, it's the perfect size and I like that it had the cloth and metal lid options. But the best feature was the temperature reader and that the weight of the jar was printed on the jar saving me from trying to remember to weigh it ahead of time.I used everything in the kit as I went along and its all very good quality, I didnt feel like I was missing anything to be a successful sourdough baker. Really nice to have it all there and I think this kit is good for every level baker, but especially valuable to a newbie like me.An excellent gift idea for anyone looking to get started in sourdough or if you're like me and have been wanting to but also been feeling intimidated to jump in. This kit will have your back for that first loaf and beyond. Mixing and shaping feel downright professional—no more hunting down obscure gadgets.My only quibbles: the printed date band on the jar sits at a seam, chopping off some numbers, and the metal screw-on lid is fine but feels utilitarian next to the artisan vibe of the rest of the set—I’d trade it for a simple glass lid in a heartbeat. Beyond that, every piece feels solid, intuitive, and ready to turn flour and water into a tangy masterpiece. This is a great set for any level of bread baker.It comes with everything you’ll need, aside from yeast and flour! The danish dough whisk (brodpisker) that’s included is a valuable tool for any baker to have in their kitchen. Good value and good quality can be found with everything that’s included in this complete set.

Everything you need to get going. Not sure I realized that having a yeast thing means I have to have somebody keep it alive if I'm out of town for a while. I got my kit and I love it and also I really like how high quality everything is. I bought another one for bread making relative who loves I another state.I can already taste the delicious bread!!!!
