When AT&T came out to install our fiber internet, they used a super-long patch cable between the termination at the jack and the AT&T box. One thing you have to be careful with if you plan on replacing a provider supplied cable is that if the jack is blue or green, match that color to the cable ends. They are NOT compatible. When it comes to residential fiber, there is multimode and single mode fiber. The fiber coming from AT&T is single mode and terminated with SC jacks. Make sure you order the correct fiber cable if you plan on replacing one. The length of this cable is a much better match for the distance from the jack to the AT&T box, which removes the possibility of someone staging the fiber cable and damaging the cable, box or jack. I noticed no difference between the fiber cable that the AT&T technician installed and this one. After replacing the cable and rebooting the ONT, everything came back up all green. The speeds are the same or faster. A nice thing about AT&T 1Gb is that they over-provision that speed to 1250Mbps, so if you have 2.5 or 10Gbps internal networking, like I do, you can take advantage of that extra bandwidth. I had zero issues with the SC terminations when plugging the cable into the box and the wall jack. With the SC connectors, you pull back the collar then the fiber cable will unplug, it’s really easy to do. This is a VERY competitively priced cable and is worth every penny. If you need a replacement cable for a provider installed cable that’s too long, don’t thing twice about picking this up as a replacement.

I have been upgrading my home and home office/workshop work to run on newer and better technologies, including running fiber. With this in mind, I'm sure that you can imagine quite a few different types of fiber have had to be ordered to complete my task, and this fiber cable from SpeedyFiberTX is the first one to not arrive in a simple bag. This armored fiber patch cable arrived in a nice and secure cardboard box. You might wonder why this is important, but I can tell you that when the first fiber cable I purchased arrived in a thin bubble envelope, inside was nothing but a zippered baggie with the fiber cable inside that didn't work due to faults you would understand the importance as well. I know that during shipping that bubble envelope was probably bent in every possible direction and even folded in half and crushed, so no wonder the delicate fiber inside the casing was shattered. That isn't likely to happen when the cable is shipped in a strong box. I was so happy when I plugged this fiber cable into my tester and there were zero faults and capable of achieving the full possible speeds. I plugged the quality SC/A connector into my SFP transceiver and had a fast and reliable connection.
