A simple way to know your stove pipe is not in super-hot territory. Magnet works great. Check the pipe is magnetic, if that's where you want to stick it. Suitable for multifuel stove, log burner, wood burner, fire stove, BBQ griddle hot plate, metal chimney, metal flue pipe, etc.

This magnetic stove temperature guage is made of aluminium alloy, consists of a coil spring that expands s as it gets warm, a dial and a magnet.
It will measure the temperature of the surface it adheres too via its magnetic ability. Magnetic base works well, and flue thermometer is great for seeing how hot your stove is burning.
Easy to read: there are 2 units reading (C° and F°). The measuring range is 100 to 900 degree. Three reading zones are noted on the dial " creosote ", Best Operation" and " Too Hot" , which can to monitor and optimize the work efficiency of your stove.
Fit it on the Flue pipe(magnetically) several inches above the stove. Getting the fire burning at most efficient temp, is most important. It avoids excess soot build up in Flue/Chimney plus also helps reduce blackening of your Log burner Stove glass window. Keep an eye on the Stove temperature gauge and keep adding wood or adjusting air flow as appropriate.
A cheap way of measuring log burner temps which helps with understanding how your fire is working and how much wood, coal etc to put on. tut was es soll.Schade, dass es für Europa nicht eine Version gibt, wo °C groß ist, und °F klein.
