Don't be misled by other review that say these Styddi hose couplers are "all brass". As clearly stated in the AZ listing, they are aluminum. Nicely brass colored, but being aluminum they are fairly soft. You can expect that they will get scratched up over time if they get dragged over patios or driveways. However, they are very substantial and should last a long time if not abused. On that note, be careful not to overtighten when connecting to a hose tap. The steel threads on the tap might damage the softer threads on the coupler. A new rubber washer (4 are supplied) will prevent any leaks.I had no trouble attaching the couplers to 5/8" hose. They fit very securely, with no leaks. Being from China, they are designed for a 30mm wrench. That's larger than what's in most household tool boxes, and you need two of them! A 1-1/8" wrench is not quite big enough. A 1-3/16" will do the job. You can certainly use large vicegrips or a pipe wrench, but the sharp teeth will almost certainly scratch the flats.If you have to replace the end(s) on an old 5/8" hose, or cut one down to size, these are a great solution.

I only used two out of the four, not to repair a garden hose but rather to take one long one and make it into two smaller ones cut to fit exactly the length I needed between two pool accessories. Video in the product description shows how to attach them -- it really couldn't be easier, and I found it simpler than using a barbed connector and steel hose clamp which is my usual go-to method of repairing or making custom hoses. These are good heavy duty fittings as the product description says. I actually expect these to last longer than the hose they're now attached to. Good product, deserves all the stars.

I was first struck by how light they are. I looked again and see they are made of aluminum - I had not read the description and I was expecting brass because of the color. That is not a problem as aluminum is also a commonly used.Comes with instructions that are clear, although the video in Amazon is a very good demonstration on how to install the replacement hose end.Comes with 4 extra O-rings that are exactly the same size as in the female coupler. They do not come with standard washers but have these O-rings instead. So the extra ones are a nice touch. I tried a standard hose washer and it fit perfectly in case the spare O-rings are misplaced.Installing was quite simple. The installed product is very secure and I did not experience any drips.Overall they are as described and I am quite pleased with the quality.

I got this for my dad to repair our leaky garden hose(Connected to nozzle) and to replace a previously purchased plastic connector that's not fully leak-proof.It includes 2 sets of 5/8" replacement fittings with both the male and female ends(Rubber gasket already inserted), 4 x rubber gaskets and 1 x user manual. It's made of heavy-duty aircraft aluminum alloy(Weights 4.27oz) with 150 PSI working pressure and features US standard 3/4" threads. It requires limited tools(2 x 🔧) and can easily be installed by a beginner or expert in minutes.It took my dad less than 10mins to cut the hose, install the fittings and tighten the fitting nuts with two wrenches to repair our leaky 5/8" rubber hose 👍 It was particularly problematic for the hose fastened to the 2 way/y-valve since it had a thicker inner diameter(Think 1/2") which wasn't anticipated hence wasn't measured. Nonetheless my dad persevered by lubricating it with oil, applying heat and forcing it in lol. I don't think the hose reached fully onto the brass threads of the fitting but so far it's securely in placed and there's no leakages 🤞 He said the cone-like design of the male fitting was easier to insert without force(That is if you get the right size) in comparison to the previous cylinder looking one he used. We highly recommend you measure the inner diameter of your hose with a caliper or a ruler to get the correct measurement before purchasing the right size.Overall great sturdy, durable and leak-proof garden hose repair set for extending the life of your garden hose without needing to purchase a new one.

Best garden hose ends ever. Even worked on my 5/8” heavy duty kink proof hose. All other ends I tried leaked but these ends worked perfectly without having to use silicone or anything else. Very easy to install, fit perfectly and no leaks. Excellent value.

This hose repair kit is easy to use and results in a leak free connection. I used it to repair both 5/8" and 3/4" hoses, and it worked great. It took a bit of effort to get the connectors into the 5/8" hose, but still completed the repair in about 15 minutes. This repair kit is far superior to those that use clamps, and I don't have to worry about clamps catching on my plants as I move the hose around. Worth every penny!

So far they work great. Easy to install. I bought these because the end of the hose was kinked. I didn’t realize that there are 2 hose ends where the water comes out of the hose and 2 ends where the hose connects to the water outlet. The end of the hose where the water comes out of the hose is where most of the problems are. Not at the water faucet. I have 4 water faucets and 4 hoses that need new ends. Items feels very light. Doesn’t feel sturdy. Hopefully they last long!!

I've tried EVERY style of hose repairs. Some with an automotive style band clamp; others with 2 screws holding a "sandwich" style clamp. Both styles ending with leaks. Finally, a compression style 2 piece coupler that works and is leak free. My only reservation is it's aluminum construction and the electrolysis that occur when 2 dissimilar metals are connected together. I used a ample amount of dielectric grease at the connections to brass items. Time will tell how long it lasts against the corrosive effects of electrolysis.
