These are by far the best can openers ever. I'm not a fan of the new cushion on the handles but it doesn't change that these are by far the best. (Since 1937!)

Product arrived inside a flimsy paper bag. The actual product packaging was damaged. The can opener was soiled upon arrival, and the product itself was cheaply made in China, not in USA. Looks similar to the older Swing-A-Way can opener but is not nearly as sturdy or well-made as the earlier products. This one was made in China, not in the USA, and there is a big difference. I have had a Swing-A-Way can opener for more than fifty years, and it's still working very well. I wanted to have a replacement on hand, just in case. However, I will be returning this one for a refund. This is the second time I tried to order a Swing-A-Way can opener from Amazon. On the previous attempt, a flimsy Amazon paper bag arrived with its side seal completely open, and the bag was completely empty. Amazon promptly refunded my money. I expect them to do the same this time, but what a disappointment.

This can opener is a one and done kind of product. Every time i need to buy a new can opener (for my dad, my trailer, etc) this is my go to. It is excellent quality and super sturdy, and has never given me any issue opening any type of can. The teeth on the metal gears are much more defined and stronger than the competitors. I’ve had my original for many many years after going through all of the others (kitchen aid, ICO etc). Those cannot hold a candle to the quality of the Swing-a-Way.
