I used a three point arm end, the heaviest duty I could find and cut a notch in the 2 and 7/8 pipe where I welded the arm onto the pipe. This is so I would attach it the three point upper link on my tractor. The gin pole is about 20 feet long, and I have a mounted ratching strap that supports the pipe from bending. This was the only hoist I could find that would run off of 12volts and had the brake for holding suspended loads. It's been working out very well, very pleased. I was able to build the front entrance way. Turned out beautifully, and was so easy to get into the ground. The only other thing I would recommend is putting a weight above the hook so it'll drop down on it's own.
