This bead mat is handy , but it off-gasses coming out of the packaging and took about an hour for the smell to go away. I took a star off for that. The mat is glued, not sewn as is described in the product page, so I took a star off there as well.The cutting of the mat is accurate, but the labelling of the caddies for the beads along the top of the mat are in reverse alphabetical order, but I won't fault them for that.Included with the mat is what they are calling a "bead spoon". I thought i might like this tool, but when I took it out of the packaging the sides of the tool were rough and I think it might be possible to cut my hand, so to use it I would have to sand the sides down. I'm taking another star off for that. I did try to use the bead spoon, and I didn't find it worked that well for seed beads. Maybe it works better with larger sized beads.This could be a 5-star item, if they would correct their product page and also address the fumes that come off the product out of the package, but also making sure that the bead spoon isn't going to cause injury because the sides of the tool are not sanded smooth.With the above in mind I'm sorry I can only give this item 2 stars.

Decent size bead board. Lightweight and holds smaller beads perfectly. I thought there was a hard plastic backing but there’s none it’s all felt. Not bad overall. I’ll keep it on hand for smaller projects.
