How to find the solenoid valve is broken and needs to be replaced?

  • If the VVT solenoid is not working properly, the Check Engine light will come on and your engine will perform noticeably worse.

Installation Steps:

  • Use a stick to pry the old glass together with the plate.
  • Unplug the pins which connect the old glass.
  • Put the pins into the new glass.
  • Put the plate align with the steering gear, and press it on the center.

Note:

  • Most VVT solenoids fail or do not function properly because of sludge. Sludge blocks the flow of water through the valve screen and causes the solenoid to function improperly. Using the correct lubricant and following a strict oil change schedule will increase the life of the VVT solenoid.
