Anton Breton cello pegs are handcrafted from the finest ebony, rosewood and boxwood—artistically designed for beauty and durability. Many models are available in all of the fractional sizes (4/4 to 1/16.) The more expensive sets feature ebony or gold-plated metal ball ornaments. They are correctly shaped and supplied with slightly-oversized shafts, ready for final fitting by the skilled luthier.

We bought for a craft project. We have an old cello that we are converting to cabinet, but it was missing pegs. It is 3/4 size so being we knew these were larger and we didn't need it to be functional, we ordered 1/4 size. They are so large, the tip won't even fit in the hole. We ordered two sizes smaller than we needed and still had to shave quite a bit off to get it to fit. They do feel like cheap plastic at first. It is definitely wood when you start peeling it though. Just be prepared for a good deal of work to make it work.

These were only required as decorative items and as such do look the part, however they are advertised as Ebony, difficult to tell but they are more likely to be some form of plastic resin, they do not have any grain or wood like features, when drilled into the swarf is far more plastic like.

Good quality, but they were the incorrect diameter for my cello. They would have needed to be seriously trimmed, so I ended getting some from my luthier and donated these to him. The sizing tools I had would not accept these pegs.

The quality is great, but I need to take it to a professional to make the holes :(

Was able to carve these down to proper size and fit them snugy. Make sure to use peg drops to ensure tight fit. Love the mother of peral inlays on the tips. Matches my bow perfectly. That was a nice added bonus.

Absolute rubbish. They are the size of bass pegs. Sending them back.

We have to sand down these tuning pegs to make them fit a student cello. But they work. I guess that's the name of the game.

I needed just one peg, but couldn't find an individual one for less than this pack of 4. When they came I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were solid black wood. That was helpful since I had to whittle the peg down & drill the string hole to fit our cello (I chose the wrong size). Very satisfied wihht the purchase.
