A nice flexible setup for washing walls with color or other lighting tasks. The lights themselves are quite nice. They are very bright; I generally set them down to minimum output for ambient wall washing, so they would probably be bright enough for other more demanding situations. They are in aluminum cases and seem well put together. System has a separate power supply, a separate control unit, and two light bars. The power cord is removable, as are the cables between the power supply and the control unit, and between the control unit and the first light bar. This allows the use of shorter cords or extensions to lengthen them. The two light bars, however, are hardwired together which limits how far apart you can place them. The lights have modes to set static single colors, cycle through various pre-set moving patterns, and sync the lights to external sounds. These functions are available using either the provided remote, or with a cellphone 'smart home' app. The remote is OK, but can't access the full range of features; it allows you to select from a limited set of static colors, adjust brightness, turn music sync on/off (I never tried this function), and cycle through the range of mobile patterns. There are several dozen different patterns and the remote just allows you to step through them linearly, so it's not the best for that. The smart home app allows much greater control... you can set each individual light in both bars to a custom static color (there are 6 addressable lights in each bar), design custom moving displays, set up times, and a lot of other typical 'smart home' features. However, there doesn't seem to be much documentation for this, so some functions might be difficult to figure out. They're supposed to be waterproof/suitable for outdoor use, but I have not tried this feature.

Seeing some of the other reviews, I am glad that I am not the only one who was upset with the plastic being shoved very far into the casing. I spent a good five minutes looking the product over convinced there was a way to take it apart to remove the rest of the plastic, but that was not the case. So you end up with most of the plastic removed but then some ugly extra plastic around the ends. Which is not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but absolutely maddening as the person who set it up and took the rest of the plastic off. Like, now I know that that's just there forever and it is driving me up a wall.Light coverage... pretty okay. Maybe it's because I'm used to concert lighting but I was expecting something a little more like that (not a huge concert, of course) but it's more suited to solo performers or having several of these with one in front of each musician or something like that. Or one or two to light up a coffee open mic sort of performance. But for the price it's really upsetting. I wouldn't want to drop almost $200 on two of these just to light up my coffeehouse/experimental theater/etc space.I think if the price dropped by half it might be more worth it. But there are too many irritations for me to be comfortable with okaying the current price. If these drawbacks were fixed, then maybe we'd be in business with the $90.
