Nice idea but it doesn’t really work. These do not do anything to help with grip strength. They do make gripping the bar a bit more comfortable. My hands tend to get sweaty and when they do these things slip around a little. Over all my gloves work better.

I am using this for the seated row on a Concept2 Strengtherg to make the handle more comfortable, and it works perfectly for this purpose. This provides a little cushioning and no slip, and it easy to use, less cumbersome than exercise gloves. Well worth the money for me!

Ordered these to see how they compare to other grip enhancement approaches I've tried for lifting weights and exercise. These are an interesting product, though not necessarily a replacement for all other grips. I'd compare these more to an alternative to lifting gloves or a way to avoid/improve chalk.Personally, I didn't feel like these improved my grip on dumbbells, barbells, pullup bar, or rowing handle. There is no comparison for me between lifting straps and these when doing heavy deadlifts, for example. Straps easily allow me to lift 50+ more lbs vs. raw when my grip becomes the limiting factor. This product didn't give me near that boost. So, I won't be using these instead of straps, for example. But, what I did notice is that when I was doing more of a metcon style workout, where I'm sweating a lot, these provided a noticeable improvement. I find myself sometimes struggling to grip the bar or rower handle because my hands become sweaty and they're sliding more than usual. Chalk certainly helps to a point, but depending on the amount of sweat, it can become a bit of a losing battle. Not to mention that constantly reapplying chalk becomes disruptive at times. These worked well for me in that type of exercise, since it kept my sweaty hands from needing to make direct contact with the bar. I'm able to hold these more securely, and then the outers surface of this stays more dry and doesn't slide as much against the bar. It also has little pockets in the outer face, so it can hold onto chalk better than my hands. The other benefit is that my palms aren't directly rubbing against the bar or handle. So, it puts less friction on my skin to avoid blisters and calluses. So, for me, I am using them as an inexpensive, lightweight alternative to gloves rather than as a replacement for lifting straps or gymnastic grips.

This is an item that is not necessary at all but if you don’t like the texture of barbell handles or dumbbells this will help put a buffer between your hand and metal. That being said it’s more of a padding than a grip. It seems too smooth to actually help grip onto the metal. Maybe if you got it a little moist it might grip better? I haven’t lifted anything heavier than an Olympic barbell and a dumbbell but they definitely make it more comfortable. If you have sensitive hands these will work, or if your wedding band digs into your palm when lifting heavy this should eliminate that. They are pretty big though so if you have small hands these might be too big. I have bigger hands for a girl so they fit my hands fine.

My daughter is just getting started with a weight lifting program for fitness training. Just beginning her program, she really didn’t know if these grips were necessary or not but they were a good deal and after having gotten them, she decided she liked the feel better than without them.

I’m 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, a personal trainer and competitive bodybuilder whose days are a relentless grind of coaching clients and sculpting a stage-ready physique. Still, the moments I steal to cook with my girlfriend recharge me, and these Ysdiamy Weight Lifting Grips are my gym’s secret weapon for pushing limits without wrecking my hands. Last Friday, I was in the zone, tearing through a deadlift session, comp season looming, and my bar loaded to 405 pounds. These 5-by-4-inch anti-slip rubber grips, weighing just 2 ounces each, slide into my palms like trusted allies, their textured silicone surface locking onto the bar even as sweat drips, no chalk needed, unlike gloves that slip or tear. At my size, the 0.2-inch thick padding, made of high-density sponge and nylon, cushions my hands without bulk, saving me from calluses while boosting my grip for heavier pulls, rated for up to 500 pounds. They’re versatile, perfect for dumbbell rows or pull-ups, with no finger loops to slow me down, though I keep them in my Sankel WHOOP band’s pocket to avoid losing them. Post-workout, they rinse clean, odor-free, ready for my next session, leaving me free to chop garlic for our date-night risotto, my hands soft enough for her to hold. These unisex grips are a steal for anyone chasing gains with flair. Want to lift like a pro and still charm at the dinner table? Grab these Ysdiamy grips; they’re your ticket to a strong and suave life.

I ordered these for using with our new rowing machine. The handles are fine until they're not and these grips help add to the comfort. These are simple and they work well for our needs. I haven't tested them on weights, but they work well for the handles on our rower. Highly recommend!
