This grid limits the light spread from your Apollo to 40-degrees and attaches to the recessed front through the use of hook and loop tape. A grid is an essential accessory for any lighting system. It alters the shape and intensity of the light output from your softbox when mounted onto a light head.

This is not what I've come to expect from Westcott. Don't get me wrong, I have all their stuff from reflectors, screens, rapidxl to the orb. This one is just bad. When you put it on the Orb, the grid pulls the edges, making the 48inch orb even smaller because the tension is quite strong. The Orb is an umbrella type, so it doesn't have rigid egdes like in a sturdy soft box.If I had known ahead of time that it would squish the Orb, I would not have purchase this at all.

Does the job of controlling the light spread well. It's a bit tougher to install than they would lead you to believe, however, since the Apollo orb is so cheaply made and flexes so much. A little bit of patience is needed, but once installed works well.

Does its job, much cheaper than the crate for the Rapid Box. Putting it on sometimes leave extra velcro hanging and you have to manage to place it somewhere which in my opinion is a design flaw. Over all this is a pretty good crate grid and much cheaper than the ones for the Rapid Box which are ridiculous over priced.

It fits fairly well and focuses the light perfectly. The shot below utilized 3 speedlights in the Orb/ the grid. I love how little spill there is in the photo.

Too expensive I think. But necessary. Can live without it. That's probably the reason for the price. Gotta have it.
