Most bottle openers have a pigtail tail at the tip this one is straight like a nail point so you have to really work it into the cork ! You have to use quite a bit of force to penetrate the cork ! Too much work!

The next best thing to an electric wine opener. Very easy to use. You won't need to use all your strength to open a bottle of wine.

The bottle opener works well, and is sturdier than I expected. It has a bit of weight to it, which I like.There's a bit of side-to-side wiggle in the corkscrew. It mostly goes away when you're actually using it (the cork dampens the movement), and it doesn't seem to affect function, but I prefer smoother movement.

This is the nicest looking wine opener I have, the metal is polished to a high gloss. We'll see if it lasts a while. I'm a little nervous about zinc as the primary material. Zinc tends to be brittle. My last wine opener had the zinc auger shear off in an especially tight cork a week of two back. I'd like to have a stainless steel opener but materials and machining would be dramatically higher for as opposed to die cast.The previous on lasted for years so I guess I got my money's worth.This one is pretty and looks to be well made.

Very nice opener set. Some openers come with the foil cutter on the top, but I much prefer having a bottle opener at the top and a separate foil cutter like this one in this set. The opener is nicely crafted and solid, not at all flimsy. I also like that it comes with a vacuum wine stopper. I find that that type works really well to keep the wine fresh and my husband which is important as my husband and I usually only drink one glass each with dinner, so many times our bottle lasts us a few days.

This was a great set! I was nervous when I saw that it was zinc alloy but it has a really nice, sturdy weight to it - it's much easier to open a bottle of wine when the opener is solid - less work on your hands as it handles more of the work. The foil cutter is nice but the really fun thing that I've never used before is the cork that is also a vacuum. This is so very clever. Very nice way to keep wine (after it's been oxygenated) to last just a tiny bit longer. The only thing that would make it better is if it would also convert to an aerator. Very happy with this purchase.

I needed a new bottle opener as the one I purchased last spring kicked the bucket soon thereafter and I thought now was as good a time as any to replace it. Actually it was still usable, but the plastic collar at the neck has cracked rendering it a bit difficult, though not impossible, to use. I see that this model has a plastic collar as well, but that it’s much more sturdy, in that the plastic is better quality and it only sticks out a few millimeters beyond the metal collar. I expect it to hold up a bit better for that reason alone, but there are a few other features I really liked. First, the corkscrew center pin is straight, which means you poke straight down rather than at an angle, to get it going. Second, the corkscrew came with a cap. It’s probably just intended for shipping, but it’s thick enough and useful enough, to keep on the tool while in storage. There are also two other doohickeys that come in the box - one if which appears to be a cork with a vacuum pump attached, which is a nice touch, the other of which I have no idea what it is supposed to do or be. In any case, the overall quality of the bottle opener itself is great . It’s way more sturdy and robust than your typical generic cooking tool. It’s about double what I paid for my old one and it worth it. Recommended.
