I was looking for a long time to find a mat and some of them go up to $500 and there was no way I was gonna spend that. This is great for those who are practicing high off the floor. I would recommend the thinner mat for doing tricks off the floor like a handstand because the thickness will cause you to loose balance. The one annoying thing when you get it is that the cushion inside has plastic around it which makes it sound like your walking on a diaper. There is a zipper but it would be very difficult to get the padding back in so I had to reach through the zipper to keep pulling pieces of the plastic out because it was totally wrapped around the cushion.

I have tried many crash mats for pole dance practice and this one has proven to be the most beneficial and safest mat that I have used within the industry. It has many qualities to it, the best being the thickness and actual quality of fill this mat is made of. Having fallen in a few advanced pole tricks from pretty high up, I have always landed safely on this mat with no injury. I can not say the same for other mats that have been created and marketed for pole. I also love the ease of cleaning this product because of the material used to create it. I can often just wipe it down with a towel and disinfectant and I'm done.

Ordered the Crash Mat from Yoga Direct. The mat I was sent looked used. It was already damaged. Contacted the company, and after returning they said they would ship another. 2 1/2 months later I am still waiting. Yoga Direct Mats are horrible.

My Pole fitness studio has these so I felt confident when I bought mine. I wasn't disappointed, this is the cheapest one I could find, it is made to fit around a pole, and well--obviously it works LOL. It's very thick, perfect for newbies that haven't built the strength to dismount a pole from an invert (and slide instead...don't worry, we've all been there!). No complaints at all, only a tip = it's BIG so make sure you have room to store it somewhere! Very good buy for new polers, a necessity for newbies to inverts! :) Happy poling!

This mat is absolutely great for the price! The foam is thick enough to give you all the confidence you need on the pole. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for all the tearing at the seams that occurred within the first week of use. Still functional, just not as pretty... :)

I love this crash mat. When I was shopping around, I was looking for a mat that was at least 5 inches thick and 5 feet in diameter that wouldn't break the bank. (Crash mats are so expensive!) This is the thickest, widest, best quality mat I could find for the price, and I feel safe inverting and trying out new moves with it.The only annoying thing I noticed about it was that when I first got it, the flaps didn't stretch enough to cover all of the velcro, but since I've had it for several months now it has stretched a little and now the velcro is completely covered. Also, because it is pink it shows dirt when it has been used a lot, and although mine doesn't really look dirty, there are a couple spots on the bottom I've had trouble getting completely clean, at least with the alcohol and paper towel that I was using. I also had some trouble when I ordered it - it took at least a week longer than the estimated delivery date to get here and had no tracking info, but Amazon took care of it well enough. All in all though, it's a great mat for a great price and I'm so glad I bought it.

The pole mat is definitely a good cushion to any falls you might have while poling. However, after 2 weeks of use, it is already ripping around the seams where the velcro is sewn on :( Obviously the cushion effect isn't affected by this, but I'm disappointed to say the least that it is showing signs of wear after such a short period of time. I guess that's what we get for buying the discounted mats! Hopefully the full price ones don't tear as easily!

The crash mat has good padding, it is a proper thickness and I don't feel the floor when jumping on it. The cover material is ok. The biggest draw back is that there are no handles. Otherwise, it does the job.
