These felt-tip pens are very inexpensive at $6.99 for a set of 10, and they are not the best quality, which is to be expected. For a beginner who is learning to do calligraphy, this would be a good starting set. However, I would choose more expensive pens for a project you wanted to frame, for example. There are really only 4 pens which have the chiseled nibs, while a couple of them have a paint tip, and the rest are fine-tipped and good for regular journaling. I didn’t feel like the chiseled-nib pens worked that well as I had some skipping in the letters. Yes, I have done calligraphy in the past, but have used more professional pens.

I usually use pen and ink for calligraphy but I’m getting tired of cleaning pens every time I use them. I thought I’d try calligraphy markers to see if I like them better. It seems that I do. This set has a nice selection of tips. The ink flows well. And the best part of all - I don’t have to clean up afterwards.I don’t expose my work to moisture so it doesn’t matter much to me if the ink is water resistant.

Fantastic! I have done calligraphy for years, decades even. Nothing professional but I make my own cards and hand letter signs and what not for a few organizations. I have used a variety of pens - some quite expensive. None, and I mean NONE! compare to this set!First of all the ink is a true, deep black. Amazingly it doesn't bleed through your average paper and it also doesn't smear or puddle. Also, the nibs are an excellent variety. I prefer to use the angled, or chiseled nibs. For me, it creates the nicest effect. These are solid nibs with no stray fibers. They aren't flimsy but stiff enough to get the desired effect.Lastly, these are amazingly affordable! I have easily paid four times the price of this set for one pen. This set gives you a variety for less than a dollar a piece. I can't believe this quality at any price, but especially so reasonably! If you've ever thought you might want to try calligraphy you can't go wrong with this starter but be forewarned - it is not a 'starter set' or a 'disposable set' the quality goes way beyond that.

For under seven bucks, this is a great variety set of calligraphy pens. It comes with not only chisel tips, but brush tips as well, so you can experiment with different types of pens and different styles of calligraphy. Are they the finest quality out there? Absolutely not; they're seven dollars. But I believe they're well worth the price for this set. So nice to have proper calligraphy pens again after moving and (regrettably) tossing my old ones. I was surprised by the smallest chisel tip - I thought the chisel style wouldn't be very visible in a tip that small, but they really have the tip finely angled, and it offers just as good slanting strokes as the wider chisels.

For those just beginning to learn calligraphy and wanting to practice, they're excellent! However I do not recommend them for more finished pieces. I have pictures of the effect of each tip size. My favorite to handle was the Medium flexible tip (second from the right). Had the right amount of flex and rigidness for a nice brushstroke. Yes, I was so distracted by how nice that one felt that I forgot the "H"!The tips are PHENOMENAL for the price. Very sharp. It is very rich black! But the ink might bleed as you lay it down, see the close up shots (im inking on regular printer paper). What bugs me is the pens claim to be waterproof on the box but the pens themselves say "Water Resistant!" When I saw they were water-based I knew there was no way they could be waterproof and a light smear of water proved this, after I waited over 3 mins to dry. They are quick dry as advertised for sure, just not waterproof. So again, these are great practice markers, but not for final work.

This set of pens are all felt tipped, including the brush pen. They all work well with even flow and good responsiveness to pressure changes. The edges are sharp and do not vary during a line unless pressure changes. The ink does indeed seem to be archival quality. It dries quickly and does not bleed through. When water is applied, even immediately after writing, it does not bleed or smudge on the edges.A very good pen set, and a very good value.

I've always enjoyed the look of handwriting with calligraphy pens. Just looks so elegant - even without trying. I thought it would be fun to try out a pack of different sizes and shapes and this was a great selection. I prefer the ones with the flat tip but I'm sure there's a whole art of calligraphy where I could learn how to better use the other ones. Getting this kit made me want to look up some calligraphy methods - so going to do that now!

I have always wanted to learn calligraphy, and these pens are making it fun and easy. This set of 10 pens is brilliantly designed to give you various widths of markers. The site description says 'Brush pens', but it feels more like well-designed felt-tipped markers. The ink is a true, deep black, and the tips range from XS to L and several different chisel tips. They are easy to use and look beautiful on the page. Would highly recommend this set for its beauty, functionality, and value!
