My old card reader worked well with Windows 10 but had problems with Windows 11. It would keep connecting and disconnecting until a card was inserted. This card reader behaves perfectly with Windows 11. Transfer speeds are good and it has been reliable so far.

This 8 in one provides a decent variety of options. 3 x USB ports , CF, XD, SD, TF and Ms ports to finish off. Covers everything I'd need it for and isn't too bulky. Not sure why I'd need 3 USBs together, and using more than one slows down the processing power as you'd expect, but it's a good tool to have in the work bag should you come across one of the older peripherals in the office.

I use Windows 10, and the device did work instantly.I presume that the same will be true when plugging this card reader into Windows 11, too.I typically use a single SD card reader, but as I want to use my very old but hardly ever used Nikon D80; I needed-to get a card reader that could read compact Flash cards; as I have been yet to find my original CF card-reader.Plus; in searching for the aforementioned Compact Flash card-reader, I found an old Fuji XD memory card, and I used this device to discover that my late father had taken photographs of a previous home, and he had also recorded video of that home on to this card, too. I was then able-to copy this to my computer to be able-to show it on a very large screen. The only issue that I found with this card-reader is that my SD cards seem-to go into the card-reader the 'correct' way up; and the Compact Flash and XD cards have to go in upside-down.This would not be a problem for most people, but I am partially blind, and I could have done serious damage to either the card-reader or the card itself; had I not been as typically patient as I normally am.There are no instructions, and no warnings of this printed on the outer packaging, which is simply the card-reader in a resealable bag.

This is an excellent card reader that works well and has eight ports for cards old and new.The reader is made of thin black plastic with a quartered pattern on the top with alternating shiny and matt areas. On delivery this is protected by a plastic film and once this is removed the shiny areas are finger print magnets. The lack of sophistication observed on the case does not extend to the operation of this device - it works extremely well. All the sockets are clearly labelled and all three USB sockets are the higher speed USB3 type with blue pads.I plugged the USB-A 3.0 plug into my fourteen year old Windows 7 PC and immediately six drivers were installed:USB Mass Storage DeviceGeneric- Compact Flash USB DeviceGeneric- SD/MMC USB DeviceGeneric- MS/MS-Pro USB DeviceGeneric- xD-Picture USB DeviceGeneric- Micro SD USB DeviceThere wasnât the usual delay as these are searched for and downloaded from Microsoft Update; they were either already on my PC, or stored in the card reader. After rummaging through my box of memory cards I managed to find; three USB flash drives of varying vintages, a Sony Memory Stick, Compact Flash, SD and Micro SD.With these I was able to test all but âXDâ, which I now learn were introduced in 2002 by Fuji and Olympus and at the time were the smallest flash memory cards on the market until the Mini SD.The card reader has no issues accessing any type of card and quickly transfers files between them - even between SD and Micro-SD which is not always the case.Having satisfied myself there were no problems with solid state cards I connected a 5TB Western Digital HDD which would need power from the reader. This also worked with no problems. I only tested one power hungry external drive, things might not go so smoothly if you connect three! This card reader might not look as smart as the anodised aluminium ones you can get, but it can connect to more different types of card than any other I have tried and works flawlessly. The inclusion of three USB3 sockets is a real bonus.I have no hesitation giving this five stars.
