The lids do not snap shut at all. You have to tape them down.

These are the perfect size for my bath truffles. Actually the only thing I've found that they fit in perfectly. But that's not what these boxes are for. I use the labels to tape them closed. If you're wanting these for cake. Just be aware that they do not snap closed. The lids will fall off without being secured with tape or a sticker.
