I use flush cutters for jewelry making. I work with craft wire or German wire. These wires are either dead soft or half hard. I do a lot of wire wrapping, making wrapped loops for earrings, bead drops, the ends of bracelets, etc. When I use a flush cutter to assist in this I need it to function well at two things: cut the wire and be able to squeeze into tight spaces to cut the wire close to the project. It's always a problem if they don't cut the wire closely enough and there is a little piece of wire sticking out.I have several flush cutters. They all are able to cut the wire (with varying degrees of ease) but my problem with most of them is that they can't get in and cut the wire close enough to where I need it cut.I LOVE THESE FLUSH CUTTERS!!! They cut the wire with ease. (I have tried them with wires up to 18 gauge.) But the most important feature is they are able to work their way into the area where I am working and cut the wire every close to where I need it. I was very surprised that they would perform this well since they were so inexpensive.

I'm always in need of a little pair of wire cutters to trim things like zip ties, and weed-whacker trim line. This is a nicely made pair of wire cutters, which trim nicely. Ironically, I haven't cut any wires with them yet. These small nippers are a great for hobby stuff like model making and 3D printing. The handles are nice and grippy and they cut well. I wouldn't use these to cut anything too strong or thick, but for light duty stuff, they work well, especially for the price.

These wire cutters work very well for small, soft wire. They work well on 12 & 14 gage copper wire too. They are spring loaded open and my arthritic hands don't have any problems overcoming the spring to use them. They come with a cap that keep them semi-closed for storage and protects hands/fingers from the very sharp pointy end.For $2.99, these are a good deal. This review is for Jiehyia 170 Micro Wire Cutter Jewelry Wire Cutter for Crafts, Precision Diagonal Pliers for Plastic Zip Ties, 3D Printing Support Remover Tool, Mini Wire Snips for DIY & Hobby (1)

Review for 170 Micro Jewelry Wire Cutters:Despite the titled description, these are standard flush-cutting pliers. These are not intended to be used on steel wire, and doing so would likely destroy the cutting edges pretty quickly. I'd guess that even brass wire might prove to be an issue. That said: the set I received is nicely ground to a very sharp edge, which mates cleanly. Cutting copper wire, up to a test with stranded 14 AWG, is a breeze. (I wouldn't recommend using these on wire that heavy regularly: they were handling all my tests so well that I had to push the limits a little.) I tested a variety of wire and copper leads, and used them to trim heatshrink tubing (worked as well as my shop scissors), and to strip the insulation of several sizes of wires. (Using these to strip insulation does require good touch control: a little too much pressure, and you'll cut the wire inside the insulation.)Handles are a pretty dense semi-hard plastic, well contoured for comfort and grip. The hinge point is tight, and the spring works well. The little plastic safety cover for the tips is an unexpected surprise, and does a great job of protected the tips.Honestly, these are as good, or better, as the similar pliers I own from the major US brands. At the time of my purchase, these pliers were $2.99, which I consider a bargain. Just remember that flush cutting pliers should be reserved for when you really need that feature, and aren't intended to be the only set of cutting pliers you have: the design is just inherently more fragile than standard wire cutters.Normally, I'm hesitant to give a rating over 4 stars: something has to significantly exceed my expectations to rate better than that. I'm going to rate these as 5 stars for now, especially at the price paid: I'll come back and adjust this if I run into issues.I'll note, based on other user reviews, that these may have some issues with quality control. The set I received has no flaws I could spot.

These are not the most durable or well made wire/side cutters I've tried. They will work if you are on a budget and only need to cut soft metals and small gauge wire. They also cut zip ties and hard plastics fairly well. The steel isn't very hard and I was able to see it wearing out after a bit of use. Also, the blades don't come together very well, and this sometimes leads to a failed cut. See the photo along with this review.Personally, I would spend a bit more on a high quality tool that will last

This review is for the Jiehyia 170 Micro Wire Cutter. This is a very nice micro wire cutter. I ordered it because I need to do some Ehternet wiring and I am using pass-through terminations, I needed a wire cutter that would make precise cuts with very little cutting margins or left over ends. This does the job well. The jaws are ground precisely, and show no gaps or misalignment. Handle movement took some cycles to wear in, and was helped with a gentle application of teflon/graphite lubricant. These are nice little micro cutters. For the price, buy a bunch and leave one in every tool bag.

This is a great deal for an expensive pair of flush cutters. They definitely start out sharp, only time will tell how they hold up. I use them for flush cutting component wires after soldering to a circuit board and for removing support material when 3D printing. And they're good for those uses. One thing they are missing that my old flush cutters have is a safety grabber. With these cutters, when you cut something, the loose end goes flying off. Beware of your eyes. With my old cutters, a small safety grabber kept the cutoff from flying off. And for some reason it's not unusual to be missing this safety feature - most of the other flush cutters I looked at (even a a much higher price) don't have it.
