These rung protectors fit between the tubular double member metal ladders. They are made of dense plastic, with ridged tops for traction. If slipping is what you’re trying to forestall, these inserts work well and really do the trick, making them a great safety add-on at a reasonable price!

I got these because I needed new treads for my stainless steel ladder. I'm quite pleased with them. They are a good fit and replacement for the treads that were there. They are a bit shorter in length compared to what I had, but I don't see that as a problem.It will take time to see how these hold up to the UV, but if I get a few years out of them I'll be happy. Recommended.

You get a reminder to lock down your boarding ladder when you realize there are treads missing. I was pleased to see someone selling the replacement treads. The bare chrome ladder is slippery and less comfortable than when the plastic treads are installed. Keep in mind these are still pricey for some plastic that snaps between the ladder rungs. However, these appear to be better priced than other options. If you are like me (and the kids) who forgets to lock down the ladder when skiing or whatever, then order these treads and get a nice velcro band to wrap around and help keep the treads in place.
