The cartridge doesn't fit correctly, so no filtering :As another reviewer (with photos) reported, the housing doesn't mate to the o-rings on the filter, it actually only contacts the red plastic of the cartridge - sort of - so no seal around the cartridge. And so now the water can get around the filter, and thus, no filtering is accomplished. It appears to work, but on close inspection you can see all the water bypassing around the filter. This company seems to sell hardly any irrigation parts - they're not an irrigation specialization company.Anyway, a redesign of the housing is required, easy enough. But as is, it's not filtering.

The leaking filter catch is never properly sealed. To purchase a separate adaptor to make it work. It is a male to male.

I installed these in line with city water to keep my solenoids from sticking. Checked them and caught small stuff that came from city water line.

Where do I start? The top of housing doesn't mate to the o-ring on the filter, it actually mates with the red plastic face of this incorrectly selected cartridge. Since the cap wasn't designed for this, the mating surface has a bump with two screen bypass points, which can be seen as plastic remaining untouched and shiny on either side of the bump. See the photo with two arrows. The filter's end face, not being designed as a sealing surface, understandably has a sink in the plastic where water will also bypass. The top and bottom housing parts have short-shot areas on the circular mating walls. These parts are rejects, offered to us as filters. If you want every molecule of water to run through the filter screen, buy something else. I am sending mine back!

The Glooglitter 2 Pcs Drip Irrigation Inline Y Filter had a good design. The filter inlet lets water into the bigger chamber and it has to pass through the filter before it can exit out the other end. The filter only fits inside the chamber one way. The chamber screws down to secure the filter in place. The filter is plastic and black color. The internal filter is red color and plastic with a metal mesh screen. The side of the filter unit said 120 mesh 130 micron; which is the internal filter size and details. There were no directions with the fliter. The Intake and Output threads both said ( BSP 3/4" ) , this should fit a garden hose threading properly. The Glooglitter 2 Pcs Drip Irrigation Inline Y Filter set was made in China.

If you have misting lines or drip irrigation, you're probably already familiar with having clogged fog and drip jets. When little particulate makes its way past your pump filter and into your irrigation lines, they clog up your fog and drip jets. After installing these inline filters, however, clogs are a think I no longer have to deal with. Simply pull the filter out periodically and give it a rinse. That's it! Installation was as easy as cutting the tubing and replacing it with the inline filter. My only regret is not getting this sooner! Highly recommended, especially for Amazon's low listed selling price.
