The value proposition of the hinged upper level is that this two tier drawer organizer could serve as a highly organized sorting system for accessing twice as much in half the time (which in my case, is being used to ensure all my various and sundry home office desktop and writing supplies are at my fingertips quickly without cluttering up my space with surface chaos.In reality, I've NO IDEA what these designers were thinking &/or imagining would be helpful, because it seems line not enough product testing with end-users was completed before bringing this to market: a lot of these compartments seem ridiculously small...so unless you're so obsessive-compulsive that you feel every pen and pencil needs its own compartment, this particular storage system might seem like more trouble than it's worth!

A nice upgrade for next to the drawing board. They are mostly plastic but it feels strong and the mechanics are pretty robust. The expanding sides are interesting. Might come in handy for an odd-sized fit. I'm keeping it on my stand next to my drawing board for makers and colored pencils. Sure beats a coffee can!

I have mixed feelings about this 2-tier extra large expandable organizer. On the plus side, it does offer a decent amount of storage, and I appreciate that it's portable—I can easily carry it from one room to another when I'm working on my art projects. I use it to store paint brushes, watercolor pencils, pens, and charcoal pencils. For smaller and narrow items like these, it works well.That said, most of the drawers are only about 1.5 inches wide, so you're pretty limited in what you can store. Anything bulky or wider just doesn’t fit. Only four of the drawers are slightly larger and expandable, but there isn’t enough size variety overall. It would be much better if the compartments were customizable or offered more flexible sizing.The build is plastic, which makes it lightweight, but I’m unsure how durable it will be over time. I wouldn’t travel with it—it’s too large and feels a bit fragile for that. Overall, it’s okay for organizing specific types of items, but it falls short when it comes to versatility and sturdiness.

These seemed like a good idea, but the bottom tray isn’t very accessible, the top doesn’t lift high enough, or far enough back, to easily access the bottom tray. Far less useful than expected.

Provides more useful storage within a drawer, but first make sure the drawer height can accommodate it. There's no locking mechanism to keep the adjustable width at the preferred setting, but it comes with double sided tape to keep the entire thing in place so it doesn't slide around. It also needs about an inch of clearance behind the hinged side so that the top layer can be lifted. The dividers are not removable. The unit has some flex to it, but it should not be in danger of falling apart unless you plan to be rough with it.

This organizer is a great idea but didn't quite work the way I was hoping. I ordered to use it for craft items that I would keep in a drawer, but my drawers are all too deep for it to open it inside drawer. I am still able to remove it from drawer and use it that way. Since I tend to spread out when crafting, cards, photo albums, painting, it's nice that it can be moved around with me. My one wish; it would be nice if there where square compartments for things like stamping ink. Plus, the price is a bit high in my opinion.
