Great price even without the fifteen dollar discount currently running. Three mile, twenty acre dual powered charger for well under a hundred bucks making this a great buy for a small farm or homeowner. Simply hook to your grounding rod (important to have to maintain power and safety) and to your fence - plug it in to 110 or your battery. Cords are included for both.We live on a ten acre farm and have an older large charger. We live in the trees and limbs tend to take out the fence and we lose coverage on our far side. We have no power on that side and our current charger is only 110 while this one will function with 110 or battery... and solar.It is compact, lightweight and comes with a cover to protect it from the weather. Perfect for charging a specialty fence or your standard fencing hotwire. Mounts easily with a few screws.

Great design and easy to use. This thing is simple to set up with clear instructions. I love that it works on a very long fence. You can switch the USB power brick to plug directly to a LIfepo4 12v battery, so now you can have a solar powered fence to keep the sheep in!

Today I installed my first beehive. Even here, less than 20 miles from downtown Boston, bears are savaging beehives, so an electric fence is a must. I picked up a 50' netting style fence that came with the posts already installed. You erect the fence and then connect this "energizer" to make it work.This energizer is over powered for a 50' fence, but I've been told you need the power to teach the bears not to try getting through. The install couldn't be easier - one screw to mount it to a piece of plywood, and two screws to install the plastic resin cover. It can be powered by either a battery or off 110v power,and the cords and power supply you need for both are included. The manual takes about some kind of mounting/grounding spike that screws to the back of the unit. Mine came without this, but I almost certainly wouldn't have used it anyway.My only real complaint is the need for a rain cover instead of making the main box waterproof, and that the instructions are pretty minimal. I'n the short term I'm using a spare battery from one of my BMWs for power - I'll either figure out how to run power out there, or pick up a solar charger for the battery.

The build quality and functionality are pretty good. Price is good and it's easy to install. I have been testing one of these as a possible racoon deterrent as everything else i have tried has failed. The one I tested is the same as this one and has worked well to keep racoons out of two project vehicles on the rear driveway.This one is being used to run a top and bottom line on my chain link after i attached the ground to the fence itself. It works well and has stopped the racoons from running the fence line, climbing over it, and has stopped all animals (racoons, skunks, dogs) from digging under it. I will be purchasing 1 or 2 more to run lines around the crawlspace, raised porch, and rear driveway.

Great fence charger. Dual voltage makes this extremely versatile. you can use a battery or plug it in.it powers up my 2 mile fence without issues.
