Due to ordering too much pea gravel two years ago, we put some of it in sand bags and those original sandbags are breaking down and splitting open due to being exposed to the weather. I used these NVOXELIS 20 Pack 20"x32" Heavy Duty Woven Sandbags to clean up the mess the decay of the older bags are causing. These are much larger than the traditional sandbags and I was easily able to place the old bag of gravel into one of these, and then add some more gravel to provide additional weight to the leg of a popup canopy.A notable aspect is that these heavy duty sand bags are much more willing to stand on their own while being filled. Roll down the top to help stiffen the opening, put a shovel full of gravel in and it stays standing up.I can't comment at this time with regards to the effectiveness of the UV & Oxidation resistance, but I hope that these will last structurally much longer. The only downside to these bags is that there are no closing ties, so my bags are sitting untied, and is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5.

Definitely can hold much more than 60lbs...I used them to hold 60lb bags from Home Depot I use as ballast and they swallowed them up.No ties included, you will need zip ties or equivalentSee pic of black 100 lb bag next to a green 50 lb with 60 lbs of sand stuffed into it.

It will take a bag of sand to fill one of these bags.Okay, not really, but they are large. As my sister would say, these sandbags are no joke.Too bad they do not come with ties. The bags are of sturdy construction. The ad shows that the bags are made of polypropylene. They are woven to make the bags strong. The bags are large enough to store dry items inside them.Research TimeIf you are wondering what is the best type of sand for sandbags. Search that exact phrase.Next, the average sandbag holds 30 pounds of sand.30 pounds x 20 bags = 600 pounds of sand.I have no intention of filling 20 bags. There is no place to store them. But 5 bags. That I can do.
