These two trailer safety cables acted as a backup connection to tow my vehicle, preventing the trailer from completely detaching and potentially causing a dangerous situation if the primary hitch connection fails. If my trailer becomes unhitched, the safety cables will keep it partially connected to my vehicle until I safely bring both to a stop instead of the trailer rolling uncontrolled down the road.

I got these 12 inch safety cables to use on my small trailer. The safety chains always appear to hit the ground because the truck and trailer sit low. These cables are stiff and keep the chains from making ground contact. I highly recommend using these if you have the same type of issues.

We needed something that was flexible for connecting our scale to different types of heavyweight tractor attachments. These will work perfect for our needs. These cables are quality constructed, and designed solidly.

Heavy duty but too short. Not sure why they cut these so short. I don't think they will be good for most uses. They are heavy duty though.

Braided steel cables have heat shrink covering in the middle and solid vinyl coated loops. Rated at 6000 lbs each or 12,000 lbs for the pair. Fits my 2" trailer hitch nicely and add an additional 12" extension for the safety chains, or can be used to double up on weak segments. The snap hooks have a nut that screws open and close to secure the cable. There is sufficient tapering in the threads to allow the nut flex a bit to allow it to spread open to get it around your chains and then tighten back up nicely.

My chain hooks are nestled up too close to the hitch receiver so when I have my locking pin in, the lock mechanism interferes with the safety chain holes. With these hooked up I can just leave them on and never have to worry about not being able to clip the chains because the pin is in the way. Great way to add some extension or to get some extra space to work.
