I have to replace the wooden pieces in my gerbils closure often. I do like the wood because I think it provides them an enjoyable chewing outlet. Plus when they inevitably chew on the pieces, I don’t have to worry about them consuming dangerous plastic pieces.Their habitat is deep with lots of digging material. I need to keep their food dish, waterer and wheel accessible and out of the fluff. This set of two combined helps to achieve just that.This set is excellent for small rodents. I would say a Syrian hamster and smaller would benefit from these pieces in their habitat. The quality is good and there are no sharp areas to worry about.
