My Polaris was constantly twisting itself into knots, as you can see in the picture. One thing I did not know was that the little swivels in the hose line were either totally seized up, or they were very hard to turn. So what ends up happening is, when the cleaner travels over its own line, if the swivels don't turn, it won't allow the tube to make any adjustments, and eventually you end up with a big pretzel looking knot.The old swivels were easy enough to take off, and these new ones were very easy to install. You just slide them into the tubes, tighten everything up, and that's it. Once I turned everything back on, the difference was day and night. You could actually see the swivels in the hose turning as the cleaner moved freely around the pool.It's not something that you think you would ever need to replace, however, after 10 years my swivels had totally stopped working, and they essential for the cleaner to be able to do its thing efficiently.They seems to be made of the same material as the originals, and look to be pretty durable. It's kind of hard to tell, because this unit works under water, but I did not detect any kinds of leaks, or loss of pressure coming from any of the connections.These are a perfect replacement, and look exactly like the OEM swivels.

We use the Polaris 280 in our family pool running regularly - we actually have two so one can be maintained and/or serviced and while the other one is fully operational at all times. The Polaris 280 is a real workhorse and will last for decades with maintenance (i.e. replacing wear parts). These D20 swivels and D15 hose nuts are a HUGE VALUE for decent aftermarket parts, especially compared to the oem parts that' are offered at your bricks and mortar pool store. The Polaris is so simply made that instructions are not needed - only a parts diagram with parts numbers for ordering wear parts.If you think you might need these part for your Polaris, then just order.We hope this information is helpful in your decision.
