Was hoping to breathe some new life into my Zodiac Barracuda G3 which is 3 years old. The fitting for the fin disk that installs onto the base was all but impossible to install, extremely difficult - if you are a woman or older or have arthritic hands, you might want to find someone young and strong to install this - I had to soak it in hot water before I was able to stretch it on, and even then it was a challenge for me and my hands. Had to do the same for the fin disk - which, even had it been easy to install, I would have needed to soak it anyway. It came folded up in a box and was creased. If anyone needs to get theirs flattened out, put it in your bathtub or muck sink and cover with hot water and let it stand for a while. The G3 wouldn't start on it's own with the diaphragms provided - I had to pull the G3 to the surface and then it would kick to life, after which I would slowly lower it back down. So it wouldn't start when the pool pump started up and that was really annoying. Also it would stall - there was no middle ground for suction setting (have jandy valve for suction line). It's either too little or too much - just a half inch or less beyond too little suction was too much suction. I had just replaced the pool filters so it wasn't like the filters were jammed with debris. It also would get hopelessly stuck at my stairs and no amount of cajoling would fix that. It also would get stuck on the pool drain, or would also just keep going in circles and not cleaning the whole pool. Even with the old parts it didn't do that. I even bought a whole new set of hoses for the G3 hoping that would help with the new parts but no such luck. I've been using G3s for a very long time and never have had to struggle as much as I have with these new parts. After a week of tweaking and adjusting, I gave up. I went and bought an XtremepowerUS 75037. Works like a charm out of the box with minimal setup and tweaking - and it cost a quarter of the price of a G3. G3s work well, but costs a lot out of pocket. And seeing as how replacement parts are an issue, I'm done with them. These parts were pretty much worthless - I should have just bought a new cleaner from the get go. So out the money for the parts and the hoses I bought, but at least I can use the hoses for spares in the future. Would return parts, but Amazon charges a fortune for pickup, and it's not worth my time and gas to drive somewhere to drop them off. Lesson learned.

Bottom line is that it works. I got 3 years of service out of the original Zodiac parts. These replacement parts feel more stiff and rigid. Could be that the old parts are worn or could be a different material. But they do seem towork the same as OEM for now. The yellow boot is very hard to install. If you have weak hand, this is not a task you can complete. Watch a YouTube video on how to best do it. Time will tell if diaphram holds up. Aftermarket diaphrams generally have a short life, but they are about a tenth the cost of OEM and those are easy to change.

This is a very good set and works as advertised. It is difficult to remove the old seal and I would suggest to look at the user manual to make sure you know the process of removing it (it requires a horizontal pressure).

MY G3 was starting to look worn and as such was not performing as it should; Replaced the bottom skirt, the oscillator diaphragm and the bottom hard plastic holder. Now she performs like new. Install of bottom hard shell holder was a bit challenging but the trick was to get the front and rear edge set, then work the side edges. Great product. G3 is performing like new.
