With new basic mowers costing $300 it was a no brainer to replace the starter. A 20 minute job. Make sure that you get the correct cup to attach to the flywheel.

I chose this recoil assembly because it replaces the cup on the flywheel side and which means that it works with more models/versions of this engine (mine had a cup that I could not find a recoil assembly to fit with). Installation was straightforward and only took about 15 minutes to complete.

I replaced the old one.....had to buy the replaced cup, once I did that it worked greatly
