I've used similar stainless steel containers in the past, which were OK and only OK. These types of containers typically have silicon lids, and that was the area where others I tried failed: The silicon was too soft and too flexible and simply didn't stay on. Depending on what you use this kind of container for, that could be a bit of disaster (and create a big mess). The lids on these are rigid and the tops are ribbed, which makes them easier to open and close using the little thumb tab. There is no danger of the lid coming loose. The containers themselves are very sturdy. There's nothing cheap about the construction. These would indeed be great for salad dressing (some people like to bring their own dressing to restaurants). But these could also be used for various creams, cosmetics, or suntan lotion when traveling or on a day trip.I like that the lids are different colors so that you can tell them apart easily. They come packed in a surprisingly sturdy resealable bag, which makes storage very convenient.Note that there's an error in the "About this item" info: It says that there are five containers. The headline is correct: There are six. This is a very handy set and a great value: Highly recommended.

These are great little condiment holders. They are a very good size and the lid is secure.
