This set of 8 outside-corner table brackets are nice and heavy, and could be used for other framed tables besides a workbench. For example, a large kitchen or dining room table framed with 4x4s (and without the lower-level horizontal pieces) could use 4 of these brackets. While each vertical leg is held by 6 screws for the workbench as shown, each horizontal piece only has 2 bracket screws at each leg. That is probably sufficient if using 8 brackets. But it may not be sufficiently stiff if only using 4 brackets. For sturdiest legs I believe you should use 4x4s for both the legs and the horizontal pieces, miter-cut the top horizontals so that they get 3 screws at each end and the legs 4 screws, and possibly add matching inside-corner (90-degree angle) brackets.

So from the start -- these are great quality. VERRY heavy -- they broke the box it was shipped in when delivered. Which if you think about it, is VERY impressive.Quality: The finish is clean, black, and as good as what you'd expect on a car. The weight means they're definitely heavy duty, and going to support a large amount of stress.Easy: They're corner brackets -- pretty much anything you use them for, you can take apart later and re-use them. They're just that useful and that solid. But unlike what you'd get at a store -- these are construction grade.

What a great way to build a quick/easy/inexpensive workbench. it's super sturdy and you can customize your dimensions. Highly recommended.

This is a perfect set for assembling the bench that you need - not the one available at a box store that almost/sort of fits your needs. These brackets are heavy duty - emphasis on "heavy". Seriously, when your teenage son who is stronger than an ox gets surprised with it and nearly drops it, you'll see what I mean. These brackets did not disappoint.

Heavy Look Good Well Made Brackets. Good Coating. Hex had bolt screws are well made and good length to secure everything.
