A little thinner than the common brand, but saved me from pulling the head on my 2013 Dart 1.4 turbo. Worked like a charm with patience. Don’t forget to use grease with the tap and clean every 1/4 turn or so to remove metal chips

Cross threaded spark plug in a 95 Honda 800 v twin….tried the back tap tool…not bad, but plug won’t “seat” properly…used this & HUZZAH!Don’t forget the thread lock for the insert exterior ;)

This did a great job for a mower with aluminium cylinder head. Glued in with locktite.Was reasonably easy, I was a little bit apprehensive that I would make a mess of it.Saved me a lot of money on a new cylinder head etc.Would recommend anyone try as low cost solution.

HIGHS: Budget price for 12mm repair kit ( very few options available in that size ). Uses actual shouldered inserts, which don't have the leakage problems associated with helicoils. LOWS: No instructions provided. Inserts can back out if you don't use special ultra high-temp threadlocker ( I used Vibra-Tite rated to 2000 degrees ). Tap does not have a drill size printed on it. Couldn't get tap started with a 31/64" hole, so I went up to 1/2", which gave a much looser fit than I wanted. Closest size insert was a little too long, making it necessary to grind a bit off the threaded end. Used a little high temp sealer near the top of the insert. End result was a repaired spark plug threading on a 1200 Sportster, with no leakage, so I'll give it 4 stars.

Fine to cut new threads, but you have to drill out the head to the point that the tap will start. so I ended up pulling the head to get the thing to work. btw it was used on a stihl chainsaw

It is not Time Sert quality, but it did the job at a fraction of the price. Make sure to purchase the tread locker to ensure insert stays inserted!
