After a year of drinking coffee that came with its own little sediment surprise at the bottom, this gold filter has been a game-changer! I was starting to think that gritty last sip was just part of the AeroPress experience - like some kind of coffee hazing ritual. This filter lets through pure liquid gold while keeping all the grounds where they belong. Yeah, it takes a bit more muscle and patience during the press, but it’s totally worth it for that clean, smooth cup. Pro tip: don’t forget to remove it before cleaning or you’ll be fishing it out of the trash like I definitely didn’t do on my first use… *cough*. Perfect coffee every single time!

Great item! Thanks for developing it. This replaces the paper filters and -- at least for my taste and preferences -- makes a beautiful cup of coffee. Maybe the plunger was a tad stiffer to push down, but not enough to make a huge difference.

Works well. Save a tree. It is difficult to press the coffee through it. It had to replace my previous Aeropress because the spindle used to tighten the round bottom got too smooth to hold the piece. It will happen quickly when the reusable filter is used every day. Eat your Wheaties if you use the filter!

Great replacement for paper filters. I tend to use the inverted method so I really do recommend this.

I've been re-using paper filters for over a year. Just didn't want to add more garbage to the landfill. This filter will be perfect replacing them. I din't even need to change the grind! No sludge, full flavor!!

Great that it’s reusable, but it creates more air pressure. It’s harder to smoothly press down vs the paper filter. Pushing harder does not mean the cup will taste any better.

Makes great coffee and I don’t have to keep buying filters. Washes right off and it always stays in the bottom of the filter cap, no messing with wetting it down. The holes are very fine so sometimes you have to press down pretty hard. Be careful, the filter is hot after use!! And I’d be lying if I said I never bobbled it and had to fish it out of the trash can when ejecting the puck. The gold tone is pretty bougie, not sure it’s worth the extra cost but is is pretty nice

Perfect reusable filter for my original AeroPress coffee maker. I don't know the benefits of being "gold" but the filter is perfectly sized, works as well or better than paper filters, and is reusable. The only caution I have is that this filter is easily lost. Keep a close eye on it. I lost the first one I bought before I could use it. I was more careful with the second. It comes in a small flat thick paper envelope that almost looks like advertising added to the box. I don't even recall seeing the first one. I suspect it was in the box with other Amazon items and carelessly got thrown away. I keep this one in a resealable travel filter holder designed for AeroPress paper filters. Unless I get careless and loose this one it should last a lifetime.

UPDATE Jan 5 2025About ready to play frisbee with this. The holes are so small they plug super fast and you can’t get but the tiniest stream out of it. I have to press so hard it bypasses the screen and goes out around the connection of the lid. I had thought it was working well until I figured out I had a whole lot bypassing. So once I tightened the lid almost nothing comes out. My wife ground some coffee and gave it a try - same experience. I’m still within my return window so it’s likely going back. Perhaps along with the lid since I’m not sure if the little valve is involved in the problem or not. They are right that you won’t get grinds in your coffee using this , you may not get coffee - or in my case brewed chocolate- out of it. I will note that I use ground cocoa beans not coffee beans. My grind isn’t any finer than a standard coffee grind.Original Reviewthe holes are so small - the pictures are deceptive as they only show the side with the name on it. The other side is where you can actually see how tiny those holes are. So, if you don't want any grains or residue then this is the one you should get. I don't use mine for coffee (I don't like it, my wife does) but I use mine for chocolate using Criobru. Just know that it does take more force as those tiny holes require some real pressure to press it out. One of the reasons I bought the aeropress to use this with was so that I could actually press the chocolate grind mass which I couldn't do in the French press I had. it would only go down to within an inch or so of the bottom of the carafe.

Much better back pressure than regular Aeropress metal filter.

I had a problem with my Aeropress XL that weak coffee would just slip by the paper filter. This metal filter resolved that issue totally.
