Look like hi-top skate shoes but definitely are not. Solid protection through the sole of the boot but also comfortable to walk in. Nicely protected around the ankle area. Mesh/air holes in the upper let through anough air to keep feet cool on those hot days. I've also been caught out in heavy rain a couple of times while wearing them, not waterproof but my feet weren't completely soaked. I'd imagine if you were out for longer than I was (15 minutes rain) they'd eventually soak though, but hey, not bad for a quick shower! Soles could be a bit grippier when it's wet, they can feel slippery on rubber footpegs but OK on the road. Would buy again.
