After only four trips, the line broke near the attachment for the downrigger ball. A 20-pound downrigger weight and a Fish Hawk X4D probe went to the bottom of Lake Michigan, a $500 loss of equipment. I will go back to 150# stainless steel cable. At least when I used that I never worried about it breaking.

I used this braided line on my Scotty Downriggers to replace my steel line and it worked very well. For reference, I fish salt water out of Vancouver, BC. I highly recommend this product.

The diameter is about the same as the wire that my riggers came with. Kinda defeats the purpose. The one nice this is it does not hum!!

...and strong enough to hold but in a pinch, easier to cut loose if necessary!I have a 20' Pontoon - my last hang up in flooded timber would have been worse if I had not been able to cut loose in high winds!I will never use wire again! Recommended buy!

Very easy to work with and seem to be doing a better job then conventional downrigger wire. I have 1 rigger switched over now and will replace the downrigger wire on the other 3 as needed with AFW downrigger braid. I am bouncing the bottom with a 12 pound ball and is working out perfectly.

Easy to install using ordinary fishing knots. Tracks truer with less line deflection through the water than the steel cable it replaced. And no cable whine. You'll forget you have downrigger lines in the water.
