Short story - The converter is easy to install, fits well, and the car started giving “cat out of range” codes after three weeks.Long story - The converter was installed on a mint condition 03 Chevy Malibu 3.1L with 78,000 original miles. At the time of installation, new intake gaskets, plug, and plug wires were also installed. The vehicle was driven in a mild manner for about three weeks before the CEL came on, when checked the code indicated that the converter functionality was out of range. At that time the O2 sensors were checked and found to be functioning properly. The incident was chalked up to bad fuel or some other unknown abnormality’s. Approximately a week later the series of events occurred again. Once again the events occurred today. All maintenance and diagnostics were performed at a reputable shop with certified GM technicians. Two stars are given as the product arrived quickly, was built well, and fit well. Three stars were not given due to the part failing in three weeks.
