Great softbox for closeups to headshots. Works with LED and strobe lighting. Deployment is very easy with the mount being folding and clicked into place, so you don't have to worry about rods potentially popping out like other brands. The diffuser panels and grid install easily with Velcro as well. With the provided bag you can also carry and store it easier because the unit folds flat, so no need for a rounded bag to fit the Bowens mount.

I've worked a lot with the second generation of Aputure Light Domes, so I was excited to try out this third generation! The quality is top notch, as it always is with Aputure light products! I pair this guy with my Godox light while filming videos.The only drawback, and maybe it's just me, is I find it really hard to open the new release plate and close it. So, I just keep it set up in my apartment, lolI use it mainly for product videography and lighting myself for videos where I speak to camera and it is perfect for that.

I’m a content creator and influencer who does a lot of live streaming and video recording. This is absolutely fantastic at diffusing light into more of a soft ambiance for my live streaming. It’s a little difficult to set up and take down for my wife, but I didn’t have a problem with it. Just be aware that it could be an issue for some. I also leave it up so it's not an issue. If I had to do it all the time, I can see it being a problem for some people. Overall, this is a super high quality product that’s worth the premium.

This softbox is super easy to setup and gives a lot of flexibility. I mounted this to a Neewer sl60w with ease, I also have some Alien Bees lights I plan on using this with. No odd light leaks or strange shadow casts, and no color shift or anything like that.The dish is made of rippstop nylon material with a reflective interior smooth black outer. The edge ring is the loop side of velcro. The diffuser is also a ripstop that is lined with hook velco. It is very easy to attach, you just need to work your way around the edges,leave some room around the outside if you also plan on putting on the grid for a more focused, yet soft light.This opens up and folds down in seconds. Just fold the one side over, click the lock into place and you're read to mount.This starts as a small package that easily unfolds to a great light modifier. Perfect for storing when not in use or travel. Way better than my other softboxes that I have to feed rods into place or just store assembled because its just easier. Those don't get used for travel anymore and I will be looking to get another one of these small ones along with the full size box to fill out my portable kit.

I think Aputure light dome III softbox is one of the best in class, very high quality product!This 32-sided circular design makes the softbox almost at round shape that doesn't cause any corner shadows on the light source. this is really important when you setting up the light (softbox)Super easy to set-up and fold. Once it fold it makes the softbox flat that it is much easier to carry around,especially on the trip with planes.Super light weight, sturdy design and easy to use...It comes with 2 diffusers, One inner sheet and One Outer sheet, plus the Honeycomb Grid that works great to control the light.Honestly, I can't find any Con's on this product.Simply love it

I love this softbox, but it takes some strength to flip the softbox open. I think it'll get easier over time, but just be aware of this before going on a shoot.

I have been a photographer for years, and started to do video work a couple years ago. I really don't like how the older softbox take forever to setup, and take down. I usually have an assistant specifically just to take setup and take down all the light modifiers to save time. But with the Aputure Light Dome III, its super easy to setup. Just put and snap into place, and its ready to be mount on to the bowens mount lights. Only takes about 30 seconds to take it out of the bag and mount on to the lights. Taking it down is pretty much the same thing, pull on the leveler, and everything close down and folds away in 30 seconds. I am just totally amazed how easy everything is with this light dome soft box. Even working by myself I can get everything setup in no time. One thing I did notice the little tab/level to release the softbox, its a bit tight when trying to take it down, when pulled on it the dome just collapse down, with a good amount of force, make sure your fingers or face is not in the way, it can really do some damage. That's the only thing I am a little concern with, just need to be careful when taking it down.

The APUTURE Mini III Parabolic Light Dome comes in a carrying case that also contains 1 white diffuser layer and grid and a gold paper insert.The set-up of this product is a pleasure -- the one-click quick release system is super easy and quick to do. There's just one lock button that holds the entire dome open. Breakdown of the dome is done by just pressing this single button again.The diffusion layer and grid attach via Velcro and that can be done fast as well.The APUTURE mini III dome works for me very well when I am using it on a product shooting table or when using a mobile LED light on-location. Depending on the situation and scene, I can use it on a light stand / mini light stand or just using it in a hand-held manner.That mini version fills a niche with regard to use scenarios -- the built quality is very good, just as expected from APUTURE.
