I was really excited to get these and try them out. Lately, my old headset ($20) was starting to go out on me. So after doing research and reading some reviews for this product, I bought them. When I tried them out, they wouldn't connect to one of my controllers. I would plug the mix-amp into the controller, and it would turn the controller off and could not be turned back on. Luckily, they worked on my second controller. I was told by people in my Xbox party that I sounded a lot better, but the quality of their voices (and game audio) somehow sounded worse to me. Furthermore, every 10 minutes, a loud bit of static would come from the mic, twice, into my ears before disconnecting my controller for a couple of seconds. So not only does this headset deafen my ears with static and disconnect my controller, the sound quality is somehow worse than a $20 headset I've had for two years. I've used other ASTRO headsets in the past and haven't had this problem. If you're going with their headsets, DO NOT BUY the A40 TR's.

Now I have tested a couple headset before I purchased the A40 TR + M80. I do wear glasses when I game. Testing period 2 weeks for A40 and a week for the other headsetsThe headsets I tested:Turtle Beach 600 (wireless) - Battery life was great, Sound was good but felt like it was of a mono sound, comfort level was not good for me - Headset didn't feel loud enough for me and left ear started hurting for me. I know everyone has different ears this is just my experience with them. Did have a EQ type feature to adjust the volume. Also chat wasn't working well, players saying I sounded like a robotTurtle Beach 700 (wireless) - Battery life was ok, not as great as 600. Sound felt low and wasn't enough for me, did feel like it had better durability than the 600. Took awhile to charge. 3 star rating Did have a EQ type feature to adjust the volumeSteel Series Artic 3 - (Wired) Sound was good but had to use the turtle beach adapter, did not like the fact that plugging it straight to the controller didn't work well. Using the adapter didn't bother me and it work fine after that. Comfort level was amazing most comfortable headsets. Sound was good but didn't feel like it was strong enough. 4 star (I am considering buying the wireless headset version along with still using A40)Now if you're looking for the best of the best and a great gaming experience I strongly suggest A40+M80. I read a lot of reviews and was disappointment because most of them was opinions and not experience. here is my experienceComfort is great can do an all day game session without ears hurting (5-8 hrs) Not the best from what i tested but good3 EQ settings on the M80 (good for if you want more bass etc..)Feels really durableSound is great. Exactly what I was looking for to hear footsteps etc.. The best sound out of the tested headsets above, games tested for footsteps and gun fire and overall sound - Fortnite, COD Black Ops 4, Forza Horizon 4, MK XL, Battlefield. When I played battle field it felt like I was in war for sure. The M80 volume button and volume adjust from game and voice feel great.Noise cancelling is great, I can't hear anything with the volume turn up about 3/4 (usually I have to play with it all the way up, not with these)No problems with the headsets, voice comes in clear and I can hear players just fine5 star rating. This headset fit my needs

The item I was sent was different from what I order sadly, but in the short time I had the white one the quality was brilliant.Since then I have went and got another set as a lot of headsets didn't actually match upto this.Sound quality is brilliant and game quality is beyond superb. In pubg you can literally hear the butterfly's fart as you start a firefight. And no sneaking up either.Recommended highly if your a gamer.

Hey, Hello, did my Headline get your interest? Well good, as you are here now anyway, why not stay a while and read this review?I can promise you something here and now today. When you have finished reading this review. You will have learned 3 new things.Stay with me for this, ok? Here we go:Now, without further ado, straight to the review:Today: ASTRO GAMING A40 HEADSETWell now finally here is a topic where I actually do know things about: Gaming Headsets.I am not a big COD or more precisely FPS gaming fan. But my buddies John and Kevin totally wanted to play the new COD WW2 all the time. So ok, I guess now I am playing FPS games. I had a Turtle Beach Elite for a long while now but it seemed kinda meh for COD. The sound was a little hollow and I was not a 100% happy with it. As I am really bad at FPS games I needed to upgrade my gaming accessories to at least have the slightest chance of doing anything helpful. So I went out and read a few reviews and everybody said the ASTROs were really good. Now I am not a great fan of wireless headphones so I decided to go with the A40 and not the A50s.That I would get the MixAmp with the Headphones was a given. As I said, I need all the help I can get.The sound was really good, but not like AMAZING. So back to Google I went. Was I doing something wrong?Turns out, there is a ProGaming Equipment Upgrade set for the ASTROS. Ok, I thought, lets see if that does the trick.I cant tell you how big the difference is. its the WORLD.Sound is great. Deep Base, you can hear all the steps, clear sound. Definitely get these and all the upgrade packs.Only issue now: I am still bad at COD. So I guess its still kinda about skill. At least now I can hear myself better while playing really bad.Better than nothingAs I promised you will learn 3 new things today, first the product review, and here are 2 amazing facts more:- Every Year on August 5th, the Mars Curiosity Rover celebrates the anniversary of its arrival by singing the Happy Birthday Song. To Itself. All alone. On Mars.- Queen Cleopatra was alive closer to the invention of the IPHONE than the construction of the Great Pyramid. Think about that..."Reviewing a better world.
