As you can see, it's really straightforward to setup. Silicone line goes on the out and in valve on the bottom. Cut it so that there's more tubing on the "in" side than the "out" side. Then cut the "out" side in half again, stick the backflow preventer in (making sure its facing the right direction) and then put a T tap on the end. Then you can use the more rigid vinyl tubing from there. And if you want an easy time working with that stuff, unwind the spool and let it sit out overnight. It'll be much more pliable and straight after that.As for my title though? I'm not using this for plants. I'm using it to add the minimum amount of water that a large water feature in my home needs on a weekly basis. I'd never suggest this use as getting the calculation wrong could lead to minor water damage, but this should take my need to refill it on my own from every couple days to once a month or so.I just have it connected to a 20 gallon resivoir of unpressurized RO water in a storage tank on the fountain. It's a bit complex, but I like my water feature and don't like watering. This is pretty much just a non-medical grade dosing pump, so you can use it to easily automate any regular liquid chores you have. Just make sure whatever you're running through it won't interact with the vinyl tubing. If it does, just swap it for more silicone.

The battery lasts only two days before you have to recharge. It’s also loud.
