I recently replaced my old brake pads with the Avid BB5 Organic Disc Brake Pads, and the difference in braking performance was immediately noticeable. These pads provide smooth, responsive braking with great modulation, making them an excellent choice for both everyday rides and more demanding terrains.Pros:✅ Excellent Stopping Power: The organic compound grips well in dry conditions and offers predictable performance in wet weather.✅ Quiet and Smooth: Unlike metallic pads, these don’t produce excessive noise or vibration.✅ Easy Installation: The fit was perfect for my BB5 calipers, and the process took just a few minutes.✅ Gentle on Rotors: Organic pads tend to wear down quicker than sintered ones, but they are kinder on rotors, which can help extend rotor life.✅ Fast Delivery & Secure Packaging – Arrived on time in a well-protected, good-quality box.Cons:⚠️ Durability in Muddy Conditions: If you frequently ride in muddy or very wet conditions, you might notice faster wear compared to metallic pads.⚠️ Not Ideal for Extreme Downhill Use: While great for XC, commuting, or casual riding, riders who do aggressive downhill riding may prefer sintered pads for better heat resistance.Final Verdict:If you’re looking for a quiet, smooth, and reliable brake pad for urban, XC, or trail riding, the Avid BB5 Organic Disc Brake Pads are a solid choice. Just be aware that they may wear faster in extreme conditions. Overall, great value for money and a worthy upgrade for any BB5 user!

I've installed them and they work great. I use some brake cleaner I purchased on Amazon and they are pretty quiet and stop well. No issues.

These Avid Disc Brake Pads are a decent choice if you're looking for a replacement brake pads. Because they are OEM, installation is pretty straightforward, and for the most part these pads deliver adequate stopping power. However, the BB5 brakes are more entry level mechanical brakes, so even with new pads, they can lack the bite and performance of higher-end systems. Also, I found that tuning these pads to be just right can be tricky because getting the pad spacing with the rotors can be trial some.On the positive side, they are pretty easy to slot into place, and, once in place and tuned, the pads make contact with rotors smoothly and quietly. For typical riding on flatter terrain, they have sufficient stopping power. They're gonna be gentle on your rotors too.The downside is that these pads come up a bit short on steeper, more demanding trails. They just don’t provide as much braking friction and heat resistance, so hard steep braking results in some loss of power, so, while adequate for mild to some moderate use, they ultimately lack the performance that advanced riders need.Overall, these Avid brake pads will serve most riders well enough. But the limitations in stopping power mean they are best suited for less aggressive riding. For optimal braking, riders who frequent steep terrain may want to consider upgrading brake systems instead of simply replacing brake pads.

These were a little more expensive than other pads but I think they are worth it. Not particularly easy to install (not the fault of the pads), awkward positioning and my clumsy fingers. They squeak a lot so I hope I have them adjusted correctly. They grab superbly so I feel safe applying the brakes. I’m not an experienced bike mechanic just a guy doing self maintenance.

Installed these on my Rocky Mountain Fusion. Took less than 10 minutes to install. They work perfectly. A little more expensive than others but exactly like what was installed before and the quality seems good. Very pleased with my purchase. Would recommend! Thank you

The product is exactly as advertised, original replacement. Easy to install, minor set back that the product does not include a install manual but it is no rocket science. The only tool you will need is a needle-nose plier.

I'm a pretty big guy and these stop me just fine. I've been using BB5s for more about 10 years on very steep hills -- although I do keep my speed reasonable at all times, so if you're an extreme downhiller this review won't help you.

Fit perfectly, far better than the no-name replacement pads.Problem is these are way over-priced and honestly I've found these to get contaminated too easy. Plenty of pad left but less than ideal friction to provide stopping power... frustrating to a lot of customers.

second time I'm buying this pads, work as expected. Every time I change to a new set, I go through the " the motions" - I clean the calipers, reset the cable and the inside "pusher" and they work perfectly and last longer. Learned the hard way what it means not to reset the whole brake system - the don't worn equally and half of the braking effort goes to pushing the rotor to one side .

I won't address the performance of the pads; if you need 'em you need 'em it's not like you have a choice about which pads to buy. Installing these yourself is an easy way to save a few bucks. The instructions don't mention removing the appropriate wheel first or tell you that you need to place the pad on the adjuster side first. The only tool you might want is a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the tensioner out.
