FALSE ADVERTISING for cattle/farm gates!!! This product is absolutely worthless for this application!! Do not buy. The packaging has an image of a dog on it which likely suggests it's intended use - some extremely small, lightweight dog gate. I can literally span the arm of this weak spring with my pinky finger! The gate I tried using it for is well balanced and "wants" to stay closed, but barely gravitates open. Thank you POS seller for causing me to notch my 6x6 post to fit this fat spring for nothing...not to mention the cost of the spring... Maybe I'll use it for my kid's guinea pig cage! Wish Amazon permitted negative stars...

I have an elderly person who occasionally would forget to close the gate and let the dogs out - no more. Add a self locking mechanism and you have a fool proof solution to open gates. Product is well designed and fits our metal farm gate like a glove. Going to order another for my corral gate.

Install was easy and it works well, but the arms do not hold adjustment very well and move around.

These are well made and a good product. They did not work exactly as I wanted because I was working with two gates that needed to line up (like swinging doors in a western saloon) exactly. I made some additional adjustments to the gates with an additional spring to get the gate to work properly and swing both ways. They are still installed and working fine. They are not designed to hold a gate precisely in the middle, there is a little slack between the two springs that make it work. If you had a gate where it closed against a post or had a latch they would be great.No fault of the product or seller that it did not work for me exactly.

My gate is under 10’ and even with 2 of these on it it still won’t self close. Not recommended, piece of junk!!!

It disintegrated when we tried to install it. The lock on the springs jumped. Bad experience.
