If your windows have shutters you will need to make sure this will fit in between. The unit is well made, but I did need to make many modifications to get it to fit because of shutters and a storm window. I ordered the unit with wire mesh for cat safety and added my own netting to keep bugs out. Overall worth the price and aggravation of cutting it down and reassembling it. The cat enjoys it.

Awesome product! Soft wood so is extremely easy to make modification to it if wanted. Extremely easy to put together. And decent sturdiness. The wire mesh is a bit on the soft side so don’t lean anything heavy against it. Overall really awesome product No complaints

Overall, the item is pretty good. It's cheaper quality materials, but you can't build it for less than what you can buy it for at this price, and with some extra effort, you can make it a great piece. We have two twenty pound cats (ragdolls), so for heavier animals, plan on reinforcing the supports for the second self. The thin wood pieces are tacked together, so not the best for support. So, I added two supports in the corners (inside) and one in the middle. I also braced the back underside edge of the shelf with a rail running underneath the shelf from left to right.I did not use the mounting fasteners provided in the kit; they are too short if you mount the catio over siding (which we did). Instead, I used two 2x4s (rip cut to 2x3s) running vertically up the side of the house and fastened those to the house with lag bolts (same with the support L brackets in the kit). Make sure you leave them a little loose to allow for expansion and contraction of the house if you go this route. We then fastened the catio to the frame. We did not use the black metal L brackets in the kit; we used 3" wood screws to fasten the catio directly to the frame. We then bug-proofed the enclosure by adding screen mesh over the top of the fencing already there and a couple expanding foam strips (from Home Depot) to the top to close the gap between the window the the roof.Plan on painting it for longevity. You can tell it has some sort of stain over it, but is cheap and I'm sure won't last a few seasons. If you want some life out of it, get a high quality paint and go to town. We also added some carpeting inside to make it more comfortable.I assembled and painted the catio the night before. It took me all the following day to build the frame piece by piece,, paint the frame parts before installing, add the bug mesh, carpeting, expanding foam, etc.Additional costs: Bug mesh, paint, extra wood, some 1" wood screws, expanding foams; we probably have an extra $100 to make it really good.In the end, the critters were thrilled, and we have something that will last for years.

We paid extra for bug screen but there are gaps in the wood that the flies can get in. But overall my kittie loves it.

Ok so for the money you do not expect a super well built product however I did expect it to keep my cats safe. Day four and one of the side removable panels came off sometime during the day and our two cats got out. We are now going to permanently screw these panels in so that we don't loose our cats. They need to fix this issue for sure.

I wanted to love this . It lacks proper support between the top and bottom tier. My cat fell through after a set of boards came off . These were a section of boards pre fabricated, held together by staples and had nothing to do with the parts I put together. The options of replacing it with the same thing or sending it back while waiting on a refund are too much of a hassle. I will add supports and hope the rest holds together.

Our indoor cat loves her window catio! We added extra screening to keep the bugs out, weather stripping between the top of the catio and the window. We also put in a glass window flap panel that we got on Amazon also.

That's it's more complicated to install if you have a brick house. You have to drill in brick wall to keep it up beside that my cats love it😁
