-1 star because the blade head gets very very hot if you do not stop every few minutes to allow it to cool, this is a serious design flaw if you ask me, after a few minutes you cannot even touch the head or you will burn yourself. We tried adjusting blade tension and keeping it well lubricated with included oil, still gets very hot.+4 stars because it actually cuts right through my Husky/Eskimo fluff without stopping to ask directions or caring about hair genocide. We own 2 dogs which are 50/50 mix of Husky and American Eskimo, and their double coats are a huge pain to trim/cut/manage in the summer. These are the first shears we owned that actually work, and they work well. Do not hesitate to buy these, I promise they cut like a dream. You should know they leave slightly 'wavy' looks to the cuts, these are not finish or show dog shears, these are cut the fluff and get down to business shears. Use another pair if you want the fur to look perfect after you use these.A couple tips: Stop every few minutes to allow the blades to cool, oil them at this time as well. Use a second person to gently hold the dog and reassure it, especially the first time since these are decently loud. BE VERY CAREFUL you do not 'stab' your dog's skin with the very sharp points on these shears, run them as parallel to her/his skin as possible. These will cut the skin quickly and without hesitation, thankfully it hasn't happened to us yet as we are very careful. It gets easier the more you use them, and the dogs get used to the noise and the work the more times you do it.Our dogs weigh 45-55lbs, and with a full winter coat it took us about ~30 mins each dog (more if he squirms. I'm looking at you boy!) Without quality shears like this you can kiss your chances of trimming a winter double coat on these dogs goodbye. Enjoy!

Got this for my dog... Schnauzer/terrier breed. My dog is allergic to FLEAS, we treat him, but the neighbor has 4 dogs. So every 3 to 4 months when my dogs hair is long, we start noticing his allergic reaction to the bites. Trimming his coat short is the best treatment. I've been struggling with clippers that take super long, at least 2 hours for his whole body. The shears are quite big, takes some practice. It took my like 30 minutes to do his whole body, and taking breaks in between. The machine gets very hot due to the fact the my dogs hair is difficult to deal with. Over all great machine. Price is excellent as well. I would recommed being very careful with this as it can cut his ears or other loose skin. I am attaching some pictures of the box and my dog..

I bought this item on august 2014 and I just used it 2 times and it worked perfectly . I have a dog rottweiler and his fur is almost like a sheep literally speaking . I have used a lot, tons of trimmers, human cutting hair machines and vet machines too with no good experience. I just saw once this machine and caught my attention. I decided to give it a try and bought it . I am very happy with the results. If you have a dog with a fur like mine (almost like a sheep or goat ) , then the solution is this machine. The machine came with the case and all the equiment that was advertised in the picture. You don't need to assemble anything, the machine came with all the cutting blade installed . I went to youtube page to see how it works and they explain how to assemble correctly the machine with the blades but for my surprise : the machine came with the blade installed just to be used immediately. I am very happy with this company . Will definitely buy again from this seller. Oh and the motor is very fast and it heats quickly. The work was done in just 10 minutes.Ths was very fast for me because the other vet machines or human cutting machines will take me maybe 45 min to 1 hour to cut all the fur with no good results in the past.

I bought these clippers/shearers because I have a couple of sheep- used it and it worked pretty well - I would have liked to see some technique literature, although I know most people who use these would not require them- Heavy when you consider that the 'human' version is pretty lightweightWould I buy again .?..Yeah ! For sure at the price...its well worth it ..again depending on the volume and usage- I haven't used it much - I hope it lasts a few years !

I purchased these clippers because the dog clippers I purchased from amazon, although good didn't quite do the job on my two golden retrievers. It took me 3 hours with the dog clippers to do both dogs and my body was a wreck. After reading some of the comments I decided to try the sheep sheers. They are a life saver, literally for my back and knees. Some reviews said it took five minutes to do their dog....that's great but there are areas of my girls that need to be cleaned up with the dog clippers. Sensitive areas like the head and belly. You must be careful not to get your dogs skin caught in the wide blade or they could get cut. So it took me 20 minutes but that's still better than 3 hours. I love these clippers, they are loud but I spent some time getting the girls use to the sound and they were fine. Saves me 180$ every six months and I don't have to leave my very neurotic dogs at the beauty polar for several hours. Oh, I placed a call to the company before placing the order and the lady was sweet and helpful so thanks for that. If you have the same problem as me, this is a good investment.
