A little trick for Keg owners who love pizza. Flip the diffuser upside down and put a pizza stone on top. 500-550 degrees and you will be rewarded with the best pizza you've ever had.

Must have for low and slow or indirect cooking on the keg. Serves its purpose well. Good quality.

I use this on a Big Steel Keg.I've tried, several times to use this as a diffuser with mixed results.Keeping in mind that we are using this over a charcoal flame means that we are now adding steam to the air.On long, slow smoking/roasting that moisture eventually smothers the coals. It may take a bit of experimenting to get the desired results.Having said that, the pan is exceptional for preventing drippings from landing in the coals, blocking direct heat, covers the top vent in the rain and the stand can be used as an extra shelf above and below the grill, holds the pizza stone, just a multitude of applications.I wouldn't use the pan for food unless it's wrapped in foil.I'm glad I bought it.

the pan coating is a bit cheap, droplets stain it easily.Otherwise, it does what it's supposed to do.

Works well as a diffuser and adds moisture to your cook but it is extremely difficult to clean especially if you use apple cider in it.

I use this unit all the time to create an indirect and moist heat enviroment for long, low and slow cooks in my Keg. Works great. Also, the system includes a world class paella pan.

This is an essential tool for Kegger's. If you want to slow cook anything, you really need to use the diffuser. I've also used it to raise the original grate up to level with the lip of the Keg, and when we bake bread in the Keg, I pour water in the diffuser just before closing the lid, so the bread gets that professional crust on it. I even use the wire diffuser rack with a Weber charcoal basket to raise the coals up closer to the cooking surface to sear meats. Essential.

If you've got a Big Steel Keg (or Broil King Keg as it's now known, or a Bubba Keg as it was originally known), this is a great investment. It sits inside the firebowl and allows you to cook indirect to make great bbq. You can add water if you want to add some moisture to your cook which is always nice. It also says that you can flip it over to raise the cooking grate - this works great for pizzas if you have a pizza stone. It brings the stone level with the edge of the grill to make it easier to get your peel under the pizza. Highly recommend it!

Exceptional. Use it as a diffuser and so much more. I wrapped it in foil the first time I used it just to make cleaning effortless. The second time around I put my wood smoking chips on it instead and it worked flawlessly. The wood chips smoked longer which made the food delicious. This next time I'll put wine and aromatics in it to flavor the meat and when I do want to grill burgers I can remove the pan and flip the wire rack over to elevate the grill to the perfect height, making it easier to flip the burgers. Also works perfectly to hold the pizza stone, and holds the pizza stone at the same height as the rim of the Keg to make placing and removing the pie effortless. I'd say get two, but you'd need another BK Keg for that.

This diffuser does what it is supposed to do. I have used it to block direct heat and with a combination of water and wood chunks. When used with something inside it, I kine with aluminum foil to make clean up easier. With this sort of item I always worry about material thickness or lack there of but this appears to be adequate enough to where I feel I should be able to get several years of use out of it when using it nearly every weekend.

This piece has at least two uses. I've successfully used the bottom [wire] piece of the diffuser positioned upside-down from the illustration to elevate the pizza stone to cook wood-fired pizzas. I also used the whole kit under a slow-cooked London Broil. I half-filled it with water to keep the moisture level of the meat up. I also put some lumps of salted butter on top of the spice-rubbed meat before putting it on the grill because it was a very lean cut of meat. Not only did the meat turn out perfectly after about 3-1/2 hours of barbecuing, but the juices which collected and dried in the diffuser pan made a terrific, smoky-flavored pan gravy when I moved it to the stove and added some water and flour for thickening! I just wish the Broil King keg featured a small rack under the keg to store accessories like this when not in use.

If you have a Big Steel Keg/Bubba Keg/whatever they are calling it today, you know that you need some type of diffuser in order to smoke properly. It keeps whatever you are smoking from cooking too quickly due to direct heat from the coals. When I bought my Keg, this product was not available, so I made my own diffuser out of some steel bar and a cast iron wok. It worked fine, but when these "official" diffusers returned to the market, I bought one, and I don't regret it. It fits the keg better than my home made alternative, and it offers the ability to turn it over and use it to boost the cast iron grate up to the level of opening, which is handy for cooking pizza (and probably other things I haven't tried yet).A good buy that makes a great keg even better.
