This thing weighs exactly 2 pounds 2 ounces, plus another 1.5 ounces for the mounting bracket, so you're definitely going to know you're carrying it. The construction feels genuinely solid—no flex or cheap feel to the materials. Here's where the description gets confusing: those "two keys" aren't backup unlocking keys like you'd expect. According to the instructions, their only purpose is to recover your combination if you forget it. You don't need them at all for setting or changing the combination (as long as the lock is unlocked). I thought they might be useful for unlocking in the dark instead of fumbling with the combo, but nope—they're purely for combination recovery.Setting the combination is actually straightforward once you understand the process. The lock needs to be unlocked, then you press in a tab right next to the keyhole (you can actually use the key to press this tab, which is oddly satisfying), change the combination to whatever you want, and push the tab back. Done. The original code is '0000' as stated. The combination mechanism seems well-designed against casual tampering—it doesn't appear to be easily tricked into revealing the combination by pressing the mechanism and rotating the dials hoping for telltale clicks. Though I can't say for certain, what covers the locking mechanism feels more like plastic, so I'm not sure what might happen if someone gave that a good whack with a hammer. But then we're already venturing into portable grinder territory, and I'm not going there at all.The mounting setup comes with two Phillips head bolts that I initially thought were accidentally included from another order, but they're definitely part of the system. They fasten the mount to your bike and secure what look like fixed cable ties. Don't be afraid to push those ties in—they're not self-locking like typical cable ties, so you can keep adjusting them until you put the bolts in. They're quite long, so you'll probably end up cutting them to length. For everyday theft deterrence, this feels substantial enough to make opportunistic thieves look for easier targets.

Great bike lock in a compact size. Great lock, and I don't have to carry keys around. Super great quality and more than enough to stop the average thief. It attached to my bike easily and has not let me down. My personal combination was easy to put in and the lock works like a charm

This is big and bulky. Nobody is cutting this to steal your bike. The idea to use the key to reset the code is interesting. It is nice because you don't have to carry around the key each time and worry about losing it. Its heavy and bulky to carry or hang off bike and is such a small space you can't hook it to much but if you have the right use for it I'm sure it works well. It will not hook to tree, thick metal pole. A bike rack works if the poles aren't too thick.

I’ve been using this bike lock for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed with its quality and performance. It feels super solid and heavy-duty definitely not something a thief could easily break with bolt cutters. I love that it’s weather-resistant too; I’ve ridden through rain and chilly mornings without any issues. The 4-digit combo was easy to set up (default is 0000), and I appreciate having the keys as a backup, even though I rarely use them. The lock gives me peace of mind knowing my bike is well protected. Plus, the mounting bracket makes it super convenient to carry when I’m on the go.
