I purchased this bike rack and regret doing so. The instructions that come with it are flawed and incomplete. If you follow the instructions exactly you run a serious risk of your bikes falling off the rack and seriously injuring other motorists. The rack does not come with any safety locks so the bikes will slide off. I had the stress of stopping every 20 minutes to readjust the bikes on the highway. I had to use extra bungee cords but even they did not solve the problem. If you watch the mounting video carefully you will notice that the way the guys holds the rack up against the trunk to check the mounting position is wrong. Then there are steel screws on the bike holders which will damage your bikes. My bikes have been damaged and there is no way to file damage claims with amazon, so I have to file a complain with Canada consumer protection and then probably in the small claims court to deal with this. The product can be made better with simple adjustments but obviously the manufacturer is incompetent and amazon negligent so they don't care. Simple signs on the rack like which side is up and safety pins at the end of the rack to prevent the bikes from falling and some rubber around the screws would make it better.

I find this rack difficult to install. One must stop frequently and retighten straps. The bike holders tend to slip out of position and the straps that hold the bikes in place are easily dislodged when reliving Nikes- they SNAP off hurling through the air potentially causing injury. Once those straps fly off they are difficult to find. I would not recommend purchasing this item. I finally reengineered the clamps and holders by using heavy duty tape. I prefer purchasing items that function as promised rather than creatively making the thing into a semi functional item. Do not buy. I wish I had not.

Carrier came with no assembly or install instructions also one of the foam protectors has a small slice in it and I know from experience it will eventually get larger

Fit well and travel 900 miles with no issues. With 6 straps very sturdy while driving. Much better than unit with only 4 straps. Needed to cinch up a bit after the first stop. Used on a 2023 VW Atlas CrossSport hatch back in January 2024 winter driving in CO, NM and AZ. Needed to bungee cord bike to rack because high winds caused bottom of bike to lift back away from vehicle. After that no issues

I had this rack for 24 hours. I screwed the handles so tight that I thought there was no way my bike would be in danger. My bike was placed on the handles on the back of my car. The handles slid right off the back of my car while I was driving. My bike is now possibly going to be totaled. The handles were screwed tight and they still slipped right off the bar of the rack. This product is not worth the money. I'm going to have to buy a whole new bike because this rack was defective.

The initial step of loosening the screws to adjust the rails was awful. The screws popped off and the springs came out. It took me 30 minutes just to remedy this so I could continue the process. After that it wasn't too difficult. But as I was driving, my bike began sliding off the rack even though the fasteners were tight not he frame. You will need to also tie some of the straps around the bike frame so that the whole thing doesn't slid off the rack onto the ground. Very dangerous. They should have done something about this. Once it is on, it does seem pretty stable though. But I'm scared to put 2 bikes on it because they could both slide off. I only use 1 bike on it at a time.
