I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my aunt and even after the film was removed and cleaned it was very cloudy and made the book more difficult to read. I’m not able to get my refund back at this time and am very dissatisfied.

When I was a kid I had a Harry Potter lumos book light I don’t think they make anymore that was my absolute favorite for reading. The light shining through the acrylic gave such a nice contained light that nicely backlight the page almost like a phone or paper-white e-reader. When you were done reading you just closed the book and left the light wedged in as a bookmark until tomorrow. I was hoping to find a similar light so I could read at night while my partner sleeps, but this has a few major flaws that keep it on the shelf while I use a clip light instead. The one I bought was listed as warm lighting, and it certainly is warmer than some leds, but it still has way too much blue light for a night time read. I was hoping to find something closer to amber or red to minimize eye strain and sleep disruption, but this light feels pretty harsh even on dimmer settings. The other major issue is that the shape is really unwieldy to hold while reading. I’m not sure what size book they were intending to light but it fits nothing on my shelf neatly. You spend the first minute on each page just adjusting your grip in order to try and find a way to hold everything me still be able to see the page. Ultimately not a restful reading experience. I had read reviews that mentioned the size issue, but I thought it wouldn’t bother me because I imagined the light to be much thinner and lighter than it actually is and I really liked that similar light I had as a kid.

This is the best book reading “assistant” I’ve ever had! I'm a book lover. I like reading books especially at night when I'm laying down on the bed, drinking a cup of hot cocoa or a delicious tea. Reading a nice book, that’s my happiest moment of my day. So I ordered this book light, helping me read during the night.First thing first, I have to say, the package is solid, super protective cause it has double layers, about 3 cm pearl woof for each side, also shipped with a bubble bag, and come with an outside box package. I feel it’s really hard to be damaged.Secondly, the material is good, I would say it’s worth every penny. Compared with other products, even though it's a little bit expensive, but it will last longer, because it has a better quality.Thirdly, it also can turn up or down the lights. So it’s absolutely designed for everyone. I love it!It’s absolutely my favorite purchasing thing in 2022 by far.

I love the concept of this light. It illuminates the page well, has a dimmer dial to change the brightness from din to quite bright, is lightweight, and might be minimally less obtrusive for bed partners, as far as light contamination in bed use goes.But this handy little light has a few fundamental flaws.- Thr fingerprints. My god, the fingerprints. Don’t ever touch the acrylic in any way, or you will leave smears all over it that do not easily wipe off. They just smear further. And accumulate. Even if you don’t think you’ve touched it, you have. Insidious fingerprints and smears will continue to collect, distorting the illumination and the words on the page. Thankfully, there’s that dimmer toggle you can just crank up slightly to counter the smudges. Ad Infinitum.- Why in the world is it the dimensions it is? No book pages coincide with the size of the acrylic illumination screen. It’s far too wide for a mass market paperback and not tall enough for a standard hardcover or tall paperback. So it must be adjusted while reading, at least every time you turn the pager if not also multiple times per page to see all the words.- Sometimes it just turns off. A good smack turns it right back on, but it’s still mildly inconvenient to have to smack it back on every time I readjust it (which provides ample opportunity for additional finger print smears).- The edges of the acrylic serve to magnify the LED lights and shine a strong beam of concentrated light wherever the light is pointed. So I have to be careful to always have the acrylic pointed away from my sleeping bed partner or risk burning out his sleeping retinas by accident. I’ve considered trying to line the edges with black electrical tape to rein in the excess light beams, but I’m also consummately lazy and have yet to do so.All in all, this light serves it purpose and has potential, but this is not the ultimate awesome product it could be.
